  1. Sold the truck. Too many things going wrong with it at the same time. Money Pit.
  2. Yes, I'll be sad to see it go, but am realizing I do not have time to restore it, nor give it the upkeep it really needs. I am staying with Jeep though. Looking at new Wranglers over the weekend. -Erin
  3. Neohic....How cold is it up there? MJRemi....Mine did not have intermittent wipers...But it is closer!
  4. Cruiser54....do you have a part number for the GM one?
  5. ^I don't have cruise control. This is the lever inside the cab on the steering column. I just looked, and all of them that come up are for an automatic with cruise.
  6. Got a part number by chance? Napa does not list the part, the only thing I have found so far is one for tilt/cruise etc....not the base model.
  7. Hey All, So, it is currently about 10 degrees here in sunny MN. Got in the truck today and the turn signal/wiper control arm fell out. IF I stick the arm back in, I can get turn signals and wiper fluid, but NO wipers. I need this part asap as this is my daily driver. Probably need the switch too. IF anyone has one, please post here. Price plus shipping to 55407? Normally Id post this in the wanted section, but need it right away and the wanted section does not always provide results. -Erin
  8. For now, I am going to wire brush the crap out, and use some good primer, and when it gets warm, it will get ground down, and the rocker replaced. Thanks again.
  9. Does it continue to rust under the paint? I was thinking more along the lines of Naval Jelly, only better....
  10. Hey Guys, I am looking for a recommendation on a rust treatment, either brush, or spray on. It has gotten too cold out here to do any rust removal/panel replacement outside, so for now, Id like to treat the rust areas and deal with it in the spring. -Erin
  11. Well, The weather has turned cold pretty quickly here, and I have no inside place to work on the truck, so for now, I am simply going to treat the rust and live with it till spring. Sinkrun....Your photo is what I had before I trimmed the top half of the rocker off. I can now massage them into place pretty well. The good thing I have going, is, the top part of my existing rocker is still in pretty good shape. IF anything, I can weld on a thicker piece of metal underneath to re-inforce it before I weld it on. I'll keep subscribed to this to see if there is any progress by C2C. So far, I have not gotten anymore info from them.
  12. They are in MI. I would not send them a NOS rocker. IF anything, Id find a good one out of a junkyard.
  13. I got a response from them. They are looking for an original rocker so they can correct it. I told them to post here, as there is nothing left of my original rockers that would be useable to them. Here is the response.... "I did notice that I am shocked that this has never been brought to our attention before. We have mocked these from what another company was producing and most of what we've copied from there was incorrect. By any chance are you able to cut off your original and send to us for a pattern so we can correct it?"
  14. Also...No response from C2C yet.... :fs1:
  15. Well...The snow has started to fly here, and clearing a spot in my shop may prove futile. I may have to hold off till spring. For now, I am going to clean out the existing rockers and rust treat them, and keep them clean till spring.
  16. btw...I also emailed C2C and let them know how wonderful their product fits. They want to see a photo of the problem, so I am going to do that....
  17. Will do. So far, I had to completely cut off the top part of the replacement rocker. basically removing the "threshold" part of the rocker. The tops of my rockers are in good shape, so we tapered the cut from front to back. This effectively will put a seam just inside the bottom of the door. I am now within a 1/4 inch of good fit. Since the front 6-8 inches of my rocker is still intact, we are going to cut the replacement shorter and graft onto the good section of rocker I have.
  18. It looks like I am going to end up trimming them to fit and only replace the rotted areas. Getting it to "taper" might be a challenge, but I did find a guy who has some body work experience helping me with fitment issues. I'll post some photos when I get to the point of getting it tacked in. I think if you go to the C2C website there is a photo of it. The differences are, the C2C rocker has no taper, and the ends are open, and not closed. The front half of an OEM rocker tapers almost an inch from the mid point of the rocker to the front that slips under the fender. I think I have a fix for this that will work for my repair situation.
  19. Hey All, I am planning to re-do my rockers soon. I have the C2C rockers, which are not tapered. For those of you who have used the C2C rockers, how did you re-fit them to work? I have about 6-10 inches of good rocker from the fender to just under the door, so my plan was to cut a line where they start to go bad, and mate them up there rather than pull the fender and bring them behind the fender. I am concerned about the taper, as I have no tools to re-bend the new rockers. Any help/info would be great! -Erin
  20. Ok...A long overdue update.....I was changing the starter today. (a long time from this post!) and happened to notice a bolt laying in the driveway. Looked up to find the bolt holds the transmission to the crossmember. I did not get a lot of drive time after re-installation, but I noticed a lack of a clunk when turning the hard corner into my driveway....
  21. A long overdue update....I believe I have solved my supposed steering clunk. I was changing the starter today. (quite a long time from this post!) and...we happened to notice a fairly large bolt laying in the driveway. Turns out, it is the bolt that holds the transmission to the cross member. I have not taken it out for more than a few minutes since re-installing it, but I noticed as I pulled into the driveway, that there was no clunk as I turned the hard corner into the driveway.....
  22. So, a long overdue update. While I was changing out my starter, I found the cause of my supposed steering clunk....A bolt that holds the transmission to the cross member was missing. Oddly, we found the bolt in the driveway.....No new progress to report. I am currently on the mend from a pinched nerve in my elbow, so any progress on the jeep is waiting until I am fully healed up. Hopefully rust repair is next!
