  1. I hunted on ebay and craigslist for an external bellhousing. Paid $175 including the fork and a master/line/slave combo. Had to buy a front retainer cover (Novak). Swapped the bellhousing and I am ready to install. (Anyone need/want the bellhousing and retainer cover for the internal?)
  2. I put the Gen Spr on mine. I gave the rear about 3" of lift. I put 2" spacers up front. I now has a rake that I want to correct with new spings in the future.
  3. I had an IRS auditor in my office this week. (Auditing a client, not me.) As we were leaving, he saw me walking toward my truck. He asked if it was mine. I said, "Yes." He said it looks good. I thanked him but did not say much else. I did not want to inciminate my client.
  4. There is a fine line between admiring and stalking.
  5. Please clarify. Did the new not come with one or is not equiped to fit? If it just did come with one, purchase one from one of the stores at www.
  6. This link has the 88 electrical FSM. It is very close to the 87. Download it and save it. http://comancheclub.com/topic/12083-electrical-manual/
  7. Just like Oddball from Kelley's Heros (movie with Clint Eastwood and Donald Sutherland), you can get out of trouble faster then you got in to it!
  8. 1. The right side of our brains control the left side of our bodies and the left side of the brain controls the right side of our bodies. 2. An automatic requires the right foot to control the gas and brake. The right hand rests on top of the steering wheel. 3. Your left foot rests on the floor. Your left hand hangs out the window. Conclusion: you only need half a brain to drive an automatic. :brows: ;) PS: I tried driving an auto with my left foot on the brake. NOT a good idea. The brake pedal does not go all the way to the floor!

  10. Does this look correct? I got the alignment fixed after 2" pucks were put on. The shop put these spacers on. The rear has General Springs that gave it a 3" lift. Image Not Found Image Not Found Since this was done, I have been experiencing shaking around 50 to 60 mph. When it starts to shake, I easy off the gas. and the shake goes away.
  11. I was getting into my Comanche in a parking lot today. A woman walking by stopped and complimented my Comanche. She said "I learned to drive on one of these. I loved it. My sister drove it in to a tree, and the tree fell over.... except mine was the hatchback model." :hmm: :hmm:  I didn't tell her that her's was a Cherokee. I thanked her and went on my way.
  12. Here's another in MD http://westmd.craigslist.org/cto/4468708266.html
  13. Saw this on CL in Westminster MD. http://frederick.craigslist.org/cto/4440868610.html
  14. I order the carpet. The color is perfect. I got the thick rubber backing. HOWEVER, you will need to cut to fit to size and for the opennings for the shifters and seat bolts.
  15. Now that winter is through and temps are rising, does it happen when you are sitting and idling or doing a lot of stop and go? The colling fan may be bad. Test it by making a jumper to the battery. Also, check the coolling fan relay on the drivers side, in front of washer fluid bottle. (Search youtube for how to test a relay.) Or, check the radiator temp control switch http://www.partstrain.com/store/??N=0&Nr=AND%28universal%3A0%29&PN=0+6004&VN=4294967148+4294962346+4294962302+4294963082+4294966684&domain=partstrain.com&Nr=AND(universal:0)
  16. I purchased my carpet from www.stockinteriors.com They had the exact color, except not faded.
  17. Wally Worlds near me don't even stock filter sizes for the renix era. I go to PepBoys for them.
  18. The TCU and C10 do not run through the brake/cruise switch. It runs through a separate switch on the brake pedal - C260. Look for a connect in a cross or x shape on the brake pedal. The is the override for the trans convert. Here's a link for the 88 Electric FSM. I found that most of the wiring is the same as 87, but radio is diff as well as some other item. http://comancheclub.com/topic/12083-electrical-manual/ DOWNLOAD IT! SAVE IT!
  19. Wally World does not carry the Renix oil filters. Their parts don't go back that far.
  20. Attached is the FSM for the cruise/brake wiring. From the wiring diagram, I don't see the cruise running to the TCU. From your picture above, it looks like you have the dual cruise brake switch. You can jump the two brown plugs together, since the switch controls both sets of wires.
  21. Let me step in. I have the 87 Electrical FSM. The connector with the Pink and Lt Blue w/ tr is the C249 connector. It plugs into the brake switch. Pink is hot. Lt Blu w/ tr feeds the brake lights. The other connector is the C250. It to plugs into the brake switch and powers the cruise control. The dark blue w/tr is hot to the in-line cruise control fuse then to the cruise control on the turn signal/wiper lever. The pink wire feeds to the C251 connector that feeds into the cruise control module. A brake switch with cruise control will have two sets of pins for the C249 and C250 to plug into. Since you have an auto, does the pink from the C250 match up to the third plug you have? That may be a C252 connector. That jumps from the brake switch to the cruise control module.
  22. Thanks. Did not get to it today. Doing the "Honey Do" list. I will pull it off and inspect. Then Permatex #2. (I will have to visit the Boys [Pep Boys])
  23. This is not a MJ issue. It is for my 84 CJ7, 4.2. I bought it last Sept. I have noticed the tell-tail signs of a Jeep marking its territory. Following the advice on CC.com, I did not want to go to the RMS right away. I was working on it while it was running. I looked for where it was leaking and found it was coming from the oil pressure sending unit. The FSM doesn't have any info on it. At least, I did find anything. Is there an O ring where it threads into the block? Is it silcon taped? Part numbers? Thanks in advance.
  24. I do not believe the MJ ever came with the 4 piece. The only place to find a 3 pc. is off another MJ (May it Rest In Pieces.) There are aftermarket 4 pc available from TeamCherokee. (Search for complaints about TC before making purchases.) There was a thread on CC about the topic. IIRC, the Ford Ranger from the same time period as the MJ may fit. BUT the MJ rear is arched whereas the Ranger is straight. (Edit)
