  1. yowch. That hurts to look at. And I thought my MJs interior was thrashed.
  2. Hard to lose it with the rear driveshaft still attached. :D The pinion spun all the teeth off the ring gear (I think) so the drive shaft just spins. It wouldn't be going far, just down the hill and back a mile or so.
  3. Still waiting on the rear axle transplant. Given that I toasted the rear on the highway, I'm not super confident in the front.
  4. If you are, going to practice, however, it is best done on a TJ or YJ hardtop. ;) The install gives you a great idea on the process in sealing. The seals are like your tub/shower caulk seals, they need replacing sometimes. It's still my favorite mod on the TJ, including the much sexier winch/tires/lift, even though it's time to replace the seals and she's dripped on me a couple times.
  5. Advance Auto, add to cart, add code "VISA" for $50 off, and this $25 mail in rebate. Can't use this here in Alaska (no free ship or store pickup) but you guys should benefit from it! Thought you guys would like this.
  6. ... 144k? I think. Came from a junkyard special combination of MJs. :ack:
  7. Loud metal rattling... louder...louder, grind, crunch, grind. Just driving home from Knik with a craigslist find for the house. Nothing dramatic. Don't wheel the MJ, have a TJ for that.
  8. ...and another one gone... My MJ is front wheel drive for the moment. :fs1: Also, that was a horrible noise. :o I don't recommend going through this.
  9. What I wouldn't give for a tailgate ...
  10. Lest everyone thinks all home buying processes are what you guys are experiencing, I'll be the odd man. We stumbled across a foreclosure when we weren't looking to even move, put in an offer as soon as we drove past it, that was competitive (~$4K less than asking), and it was accepted within 24 hours. Financing was 100%, VA, 0 down. Home inspector turned up a couple of busted outlets, a too short banister downstairs, and a tweaked well cap which the bank fixed. Couple of hiccups with the appraiser (f***ing jackass) but still moved in within ~120 days. On top of all that, it was a dream home for both of us... 11. I'd settle for just a tailgate  Come get it, it's yours.Red or White? Red, actually. But I'm landlocked. The trip out of Alaska in winter can be life threatening. Thanks for the thought, though.
  12. CRD? Or both?
  13. :chillin: Mile marker 9000 on my TJ.
  14. The title. I keep it in the house.
  15. Your grille is on upside down, too :D Nice score!
  16. I'd settle for just a tailgate
  17. Suddenly, that CJ I rewired with a painless harness... seems actually painless.
  18. Yeah, know that Thunderbear, spent some quality time at Greely. But you're one of the few. Best to keep this place a secret. It's already too much like heaven. :D
  19. Most especially if they're Corpsmen.
  20. Someone just fabbed up these on his own MJ. Let me find it. Edit: PACIFIER made these for his. My bed rails are so awful, these would be a perfect fix.
  21. Wow. Just wow. Incredible work.
  22. Fixed. You gotta make sure the link is in between the img tags. Click the img button above the post, then paste the URL from photobucket, and it should go right between the tags.
  23. Not everywhere, it doesn't. ;)
  24. Fog lights have short distance throw, and a wide spill of light. Driving and others have narrow, long throws.
  25. I know there is supposed to be a hole directly behind the bumper brackets, but the only hole in the frame on mine was -way- up behind the tow hook brackets farthest screw. And that one was too small to get the square washer in for the cap head bolt. Jeepman, I must just be lucky with the 86. :dunce:
