Yeah even my 3" Skyjacker kit addressed the lower arms on my rig.

I say find yourself a good post-1965 chrysler 8.3/4 and you get an awesome rear with a drop out third usually pretty cheap. Most full size Mopar autos have them as well as the D-series vans and trucks.

I like the XJ's with the back chopped. I have seen a few out at the Mounds, there are also a couple that are all open, just roll cages and they look cool too. Kinda like some safari SUV.

I don't think so on the Bushwhackers. But I was looking at the Rusty's flares and it looks like you can with them. But that brings another question do the rear flares from Rusty's fit on a MJ?
-
I am getting the flares out of necessity to cut my fenders. When I try to stuff the wheels she rubs pretty good and I don't want body damage. That's why I haven't mounted my baja claws, those large lugs would be just the thing to grab a fender and crush it. Bushwhackers seem to have the smoothest look for cut fenders but I had seen someone said Rusty's makes flares so I'm gonna look at those also. :chillin:

I meant Bulky sorry bout that got in a hurry. But I have heard of ALOT of them exploding on the trail when brushed against a tree. And about the lights I have plans to maybe get some lastic solder and fill in around the light and then smooth it out and paint it so they are not there. I had on of mine when I caught it on a tree (before the last trim job) and it bent WAY up and it didnt even crack. BTW what size tires are you running??? Your track width looks almost exactly like mine when i had stock flares I have 35x12.50s on mine with 8" wheels. Cole I'm just runnin' 31x10.5 on 8" wheels

See I think the TJ's are too boxy for me and I don't like the reflectors on them. Plus I think my track width is a bit more than normal, but I could be wrong.
-
I am thinking about putting Bushwhacker flares on my Comanche. Now I personally don't really care for TJ flares so I am thinking this may be my only option. So what I am asking for is input, good points, bad points, personal experience, suggestions, anything. They are kind of pricey but I sort of like the look, so help me out guys. Thanks.

I just so happen to run a mopar 8 3/4 on my rig. It is mini spooled and has 3:91 gears. It was out of a 1966 D100 pickup, it fits on the MJ good you just have to move the spring perches in about 1"1/2. The bonus is you retain the same bolt pattern and track width. But be sure to get one that is after 1965 because they had C-clip axels untill then.

Yup ever since I was a kid I thought the Warthog was the baddest looking aircraft. And I have heard they can take a really good a$$ whippin' and still bring ya home in one piece.

3" Skyjacker lift, no complaints here yet. looks good, tucks 31's good, and it was reasonably good to my wallet at $600.00.

Gotta say I like the baja claws too. I just picked up a pair of 31" claws for the rear of mine. Brand new $150.00 for the pair. :brows:

Need to completely redo the exhaust.
possum replied to fughley's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I like my corsa muffler it uses reflected sound cancellation so it is whisper quiet at steady cruising speeds like at 2000 rpm. But it sounds like a friggin' locomotive idling and accellerating, I love it. But I also have a V8. The 4.0L don't sound bad with a little growl though. -

That's what I run. I have 2 1/2" from the motor flared into 3" just before the muffler, 3" in and out Corsa muffler to a 3" turn down before the axle. -
If you can get a rough number I can get a rough price. We have ordered like 3500 shirts from them in the past year so they will probably hook us up. :chillin:

Magnaflow makes a good cat (if you can't find a shop to just hack it off and straight pipe it) the magnaflow cat will be a universal type but they fit good. I have used two on different vehicles. And as for headers, muffler, or a cat-back system look to Gibson. They have very good mufflers. Their cat-back system is for a cherokee but it may fit a comanche. Their exhaust has a good mellow tone that isn't obnoxious. And Gibson is also easy on the wallet. If you want a good loud tone look to Corsa. -
Do you guys have someplace to print these shirts up for you? If we wanted a decent size order I could get the company that prints our t-shirts for the shop to do an order for us cheap. Let me know if I can help

LooKin for bench seat cover for the manche
possum replied to Frankensteinsmj's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I got one of those saddle blanket style bench seat covers at Autozone. I like it because it has pockets all along the front of the seat to put junk in (and I love having places to put my junk). I paid like $26.00 and besides a little creativity on how to tie it to the seat it works perfect for me. -
That also could be a later model 2.8, My '88 S10 with the 2.8 had a serpentine belt from the factory. If that was a 3.4 It would be fuel injected with an aluminum air plenum on top.

The bearings in your alternator can squeal after the vehicle has been sitting. Or a water pump bearing can also do that.
-
If you have access to a place those rims would look sweet powder coated. Especially in dark charcoal or matte black

Help... it won't start, and I can't figure out why!
possum replied to Boiler74's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Have you changed the fuel filter? Or has it been ran real low on gas or run out of gas completely? If so your injectors could be clogged. -
Actually the F-body platform (Trans-ams,Camaros) was just temporarily put on the back burner to increase Corvette sales, and to boost interest so people will snap them up when they bring them back in late 2007. It's all just marketing hype BS with those cars.

What is mitchell used for? I ask because I work at a drag racing shop and I have access but never have used it. :dunce: :dunno:
