Ive talked to him several times, he will sell... just not for less than $500... But i do agree there are some people who feel that since theyre the one with the part then they dictate the market value. This guy isnt too off base - someone will pay his price (just not me.) But i have seen them listed for as high as $800 recently...

Well, technically there are several parts on my 88 that were not put on Mjs in 88 so... WNY - (i thought you were also referring to this one) a local jeep friend was the one who first questioned me about this. Maybe bad photos but a couple of panels look... patchy... If it is genuine though i would really like to hear back from him...

Its had a lot of repairs so I assume the seller meant $2,000?? Of course Ive been meeting up with a lot of guys recently who think their rusted out Mjs are worth $5-6k so I guess it wouldnt be much of a reach to think this guy actually thinks his is worth $20k...

The first one looks to be a shift linkage not a transmission. The second seller seems awfully proud of their $#!&... but i have seen rebuilds offered at over $800 before so theyre not completely insane. The third one is ridiculous in my opinion - i just paid less than $600 for EVERYTHING from the bell to the Ujoint ends on a 98 ax15. Do some more research - pre 96 Ax15s can be had for as low as $150 and there are professional Kits available for less than $1k COMPLETE. Good luck!

The Ba10 in Gracie stops shifting once it gets warm. Today a 98 Xj with a 5spd appeared in the local JY and I laid claim to the drivetrain. I figure since I'm gonna need to pull the transmission anyway I might as well kill two stones with one bird... Doing research here I am now thoroughly confused as to what I will need, what I might need, and what would be a good upgrade to handle since the transmission will be out anyway. I am not a mechanic - this will be a learning experience for me. Gracie is a 1988 - 4.0L/Ba10 4x4 - Donor is a 1998 - 4.0L Ax15 Ive laid claim to the Bellhousing, Transmission, TC, and Crossmember. I have a LuK 05-901 Clutch Kit and LFW193 Flywheel on order standby. Some threads Ive been reading say I need some kind of adapter, others say a new linkage - The last LuK kit I ordered included a slave cylinder and some other parts which the Ax15 kits do not. I am full-blown confused now - information... overload. I just need this transmission to do Daily Duty for about two years until I begin the big restoration so there is no point in spending real cash today.... yet I still want to do it right. What am I missing?

I always find it hysterical when people say "i don't want to sell" and "don't low- ball me" in their CRAIGSLIST ads... Seriously... if you don't want to sell then don't. And if you don't want lowballers list in Dupont or Neiman Marcus. I just itch to reply to ads like this with "Since youre parting it put anyway ill give you $2000 cash... buy you need to cover shipping..."

An old guy up the road from me has an 86 that he sorta wants to sell. I say that because when I ask him about it he has no interest in haggling over price - $1800 cash. He will NOT CONSIDER OFFERS! That being said - its a gray with orange pinstripe Mj with dark red interior. It has lots of wear inside, vinyl headliner has fallen apart and the seats have seen better days. It runs and drives (may still be tagged) and the motor was recently "refreshed." The body is in great condition. Very little rust, floor- boards are rot free underneith, bed it in excellent condition. here's the catch - it has a LWB rollbar. A rollbar i want dearly. As such ill put $300 towards purchase of the truck and assist with brokering a deal as claim to said part. So if anyone is looking for a $1500 Comanche in the mid atlantic area let me know and maybe we can work together here. Ill post what few pics I have tonight.
