a lot has changed on my mj since my last post in the project section. First off; got a new exhaust (40 series) Then i tore out the carpet, got rid of the nasty mat, i plan on reusing the carpet. the floor wasn't that bad, had to have a few spots patched. also replaced the drivers side rocker, doesn't look perfect but it works. and same thing for the pass bed side. i did the first coat of herc. to the bed, but haven't got any more coats done yet(Stupid rain). no this is where the S@#$ hit the fan.......lost my brakes(front d side) got that fixed. then i brought it in to get inspected and the brake line that goes from front to back blew out. had to get all new brakes and a few new brake lines, the u-joints in my d 30 were fried, and my rear bumper had too many rust holes in it to pass inspection. so all of that stuff was fixed, not by me becase i haven't had the time. the bumper was removed and replaced by a lic plate holder w/lights, until i have a rear bumper fabbed up. while waiting for the lic plate holder to come in it was realized that my truck was leaking fuel :headpop: as of no my truck has been in the shop for just over a week and has no sticker.......and now i have to wait and find out what is leaking(praying its not the tank) and between work and the reserves i don't have time so i have to pay somone else to do it. right now i hate Jeeps....well not really....i mostly hate the lack of after market support for our trucks. i just wanna have my truck back and in one piece, and also still have some money left for my lift that i keep having to put off. anyway i'll have picks when i get her back, probably after Aug 13th.....this sucks  Rich

having issues prepping my bed for herc. i've done this before to my old yj, with some scatch pads, but its not working for the bed. i've been using a wire wheel on my bros grinder, but it is taking way to long, and i can't hold on to the grinder anymore. i'm nowhere near done and i'm getting frustrated. and suggestions? -Rich

i found a new one, not a bad price on it. thanks for the info on the removal. i wanted a new one so it would last, this is going in my sisters truck i want it as safe as possible, the u joints on the current one are shot and it is not safe. thanks for the help

the steering shaft from the steering wheel to the steering box? go to the junkyard. be mindful that you will need to re-align the steering wheel to the front end if you replace this. one bolt on the back at the firewall, one bolt on the front by the steering box, take out the bolts, and pry it off by wedging a straight cro-bar (if it breaks free you don't want it to come lose and damage the hood or you) between the shaft and the box or firewall, and pull it away. it collapses to fit. i know i can get one at the junk yard.....my question was where can i get a NEW one. do i have to remove the whole steering colum or can i replace it without moving the whole colum?

dose anybody know ehre i can purchase a new steering shaft? also need some info on removing the steering shaft. thanks, Rich

-

i think you're correct, hes also runnin the front fenders in the rear

Correction -- The D35 snout is about 3/4" SHORTER than either the D44 or 8-1/4 (which are the same length) so if i were to swap my d35 for an 8.25, and lift the truck 3" would i need a new drive shaft?

i got out of work today and decided to stop by home depot for some grill parts, as i was leaveing hd somthing caught my eye......across the street there was a maroon comanche driving through the mall parking lot, i looked in my glove box and guess what was there.....a CC magnet i smiled to my self then tore a$$ over to the mall. i got lucky and found the guy stopped and still in his truck. i pulled up and started talking to him, i tried to hand him the magnet but i dropped it(stupid) anyway i may have found a new member, he seemed excited and said that it was his second mj and he loved them. hopefully you stop by, and if you do welcome to the club
