MJ Projects you want to do, but don't have time or money for
Paul Bruchal replied to beepbeepmyredjeep's topic in The Pub
I have made this on my Xbox 360 game "Forza 3"... Its a realistic racing game. I think its the most realistic game out there for racing and building cars. In October 2011 Forza 4 come out FYI! But I want to build this in real life: Datsun 510 with the R33 Nissan Skyline NUR engine "inline 6 twin turbo"=] with the AWD drivetrain too. In my game it does a 20 sec 1 mile pass on the track, 235mph. Wahahaha -
Id think if you brought your MJ to a exhaust shop, they would have a rubber bushing and a hanger...Or go to a junk yard with a MJ and take that one off and have it welded on yours... On mine I cut the tailpipe were it comes down from going over the rear axle so it points at the ground with a cheap 3.5" tip. Also I think if I were in deep water, water couldnt go up into the exhaust pipe.

How could you fix the rockers hitting the valve cover? :???: Grind alittle where its hitting for clearance is all I could think of... -
*all pics are going to be from my phone* Started my project today! I took the interior out and saw the holes in the floor, I'm not surprised, the truck is from Ohio. Probably beginning of May it will make it to the body shop. Maybe sooner?

A DSM is known for its powerful engines, but they arn't reliable... Yesterday my car lived up to its name and the clutch was slipping bad. I have NO experience in transmissions and I don't want to start with my DD, so I rolled into the dealership ""my car requires a special tool to remove the trans. why I had to go to the dealership"" and they told me "$800 in labor and the total will be around $1250". With that said I walked out and rolled back home.. Right now a good friend of mine that helped me build my car is willing to buy it as is for $2000-1800. Also this is making my MJ turn back into a DD again "not ready". I'm really thinking on selling the Eclipse but then Ill need another DD thats reliable... What would you recommend? I was thinking XJ with HO, or 240sx,180sx, something different.. I don't want to drive what everybody else is driving like a honda or a corolla.

Yup, no need for a new compressor. Mines converted. No advantage to R134, EXCEPT that you can actually buy it... Some will even argue that R12 is colder but is getting exceedingly hard to get a hold of. Especially if you don't have a license. So I'd definitely recommend the conversion... it won't cost you much but time and will save you money in the long run, for sure. I graduated from UTI "nothing special" and I got a A in Nissan AC class... Regretting not paying $10 to take the test to get my license. :wall: :wall: :wall: ............ :wall:

Would I find a R134A on a late model Cherokee @ a JY? And I wouldn't be surprised if there was a rust hole in the line somewhere... Its pretty bad looking.
-
Anybody buy parts from them??? I just bought 2 AC lines to replace my rust covered lines.. It was $87+ shipping $12=$99. My jeep is the only one, of MY vehicles, that has AC and power steering... haha

Whats the price difference between the JK dana 44 and the TJ dana 44? I'm just guessing the JK is more expensive. -
Would this be a good idea???
Paul Bruchal replied to Paul Bruchal's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I really don't know anything about axles besides the strength difference between the dana's... sorry if I sound retarded on this thread. "If" i found TJ Rubicon axles, id put Chromoly shafts in the dana 44s.. Reason why i want the TJ Rubicon axles is of there width... i thought that they are the same width as the MJ's...?? But buying the housings and filling it with parts, isn't a bad idea... Probably be way cheaper too... I'm willing to dish out the money for "stock width" axles... Rockyrider367 is selling a dana 60 front aand 14b rear for $1000! -
I'm just now starting my project. I'm wanting to end up with 35" tires. Do you think I should keep a eye out for a totaled Jeep Rubicon like on a website "copart" for axles for the 35"s. Good idea or bad?
