Ugh... You know, it wouldn't be so unbearable if the lyrics weren't absolutely STUPID... :ack: Actually, who is the random rapper who just makes an appearance?

I can find my rear end, just can't identify it

I'm pretty sure its a D35, the D44 looks more triangular (unless I have them backwards) -
I'm curious about the old style full gauge cluster... What years/vehicles can these be found on?
-
Got it done, with a minor sidetrack (one of the brake lines started to leak...) and hopefully it won't leak for me anymore! Just can't wait until I get my 94 Mustang on the road for the summer, that way I can really strip apart the Comanche since I won't need to be driving it 24/7

When you say seal, you mean the lock and ring kit correct? Interesting about the slosh pan, because currently my gas gauge does jump all over the place now. Sometimes it will be at 1/4 full, then drop all the way down to the red E area. So tap on the fuel pump assembly to get it out? Seems simple enough.

Going to finally drop my tank this weekend after waiting for the nicer weather to roll around... Couple questions first. 1) Does anyone know the size of the hose clamps on the filler neck? Yeah, I suppose I could drop it and then get the size, but it'd be easier beforehand so I can make one trip to the store. 2) Should I replace the fuel pump and strainer just for the hell of it? I mean, it's already going to be out, and it's probably still the original pump in there... I guess it would be a good investment. But there is always the saying "if it isn't broken, don't fix it." 3) Just curious, do all of these tanks have a rectangular pan inside them? What's the reason for that? 4) I'm hoping the removal of the fuel pump assembly won't be too hard... Didn't find any threads with pictures so I am crossing my fingers on this one. Any other input anyone would like to add before I get to work? Thanks!

Is this a factory back window?
acfortier replied to 91coMANche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I have the same two piece slider in my 1988 as well... Always wondered if it was stock or not. Need to replace the rear passenger side window, but at least the PO put a plexiglass piece there instead -
I've got all the gauges but a tach. I suppose it just makes it easier when you want to switch over to one with a tach, don't have to buy the two $10 sensors that it requires...

$3.34 in central MA. It was like $3.03 and it jumped literally overnight... It was awful... Glad I got rid of my 89 Dodge pickup... yikes :ack:

I picked up the ones from Euramtec on eBay, and they look nice! Installed them today, finally I have light in my truck! :clapping: -
Leaf Springs interchangeability
acfortier replied to acfortier's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Nothing? I just went back 10 pages and couldn't find anything... Hmm... -
I remember reading somewhere on here that someone listed all the other trucks that would have the same leaf springs that would bolt up. Anyone have that somewhere?
-
Has anyone else had any luck finding the strap bolts for the gas tank?
-
Ah ok thank you for the reply! That helps alot, but damn I wish I knew about that earlier... Now I will probably have to wait longer for those parts...
-
What are the two holes on the top of the tank? Are they just breathers? Do I have to get replacements for those too? Also, the straps I ordered didn't come with bolts. Just make a run to the hardware store to find one that matches?
-
Order a new gas tank and straps from Rock Auto. Now, do I need to get anything else? The tank comes with the lock ring and o-ring for the fuel sending unit, and as for the filler neck that is just a simple unclamp from the old and clamp on to the new right?

I believe this happened to my parent's 2000 XJ, but I am not sure what the deal was. My father did the same thing as you described, put it in reverse and braked hard, and it was gone. Not sure if they ever investigated it further, but I can certainly them if you'd like.

metric ton springs on dana 35?
acfortier replied to acfortier's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Do you have any recommendations for a better option? I don't think there is any other way around it, the 3rd leaf down on the passenger's side is completely broken in half. -

Ah alright. Interesting how it's cheaper to go for a 3" lift leaf spring than a stock Metric Tonne one. -
metric ton springs on dana 35?
acfortier replied to acfortier's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Another question, are the stock springs from Hell Creek a pair of two or just one? I'm confused when it says "HC-MJ-2200 Jeep MJ Metric Ton Rear Springs" if it means both sides or just one. -

Cool, thanks! -
Need new leaf springs for my 88, will the stock Metric Tonne springs from HellsCreek work even though I don't have a Metric Tonne truck package? Trying to keep it as low cost as possible

Just bought an '88 Comanche

Going to order a tank and straps from Rock Auto. Regardless of where the leak is, the tank is unbelievably rusty and needs replacing anyways. Doubt it will be here by the weekend, but I need to run it to empty anyways. Also, I failed to originally mention that I am having a problem with the coolant reservoir tank. The cap doesn't seem to want to tighten, and when you think its tight, it simply just comes loose (I'm thinking the cap or the tank is stripped). Either way, I am going to order a replacement tank, but the only site I can find it on is either an OEM Jeep parts or carparts.com. Am I missing something here? I was hoping it'd be listed on Rock Auto, but only the cap shows up. Another thing is the Part Time light in the dash always stays on - whether I am in 2WD or 4WD (actually tested to see if all wheels were moving). Could this be a vacuum switch? Or does that switch not control the actual light in the dash? It's not a big issue, but I'd like it to go out when 4WD isn't engaged.
