i figure it about time i show you guys what all i have done to my truck. i started posting this build thread a little over a year ago on eris shores web sight. these guys have helped me out with some advice and i have went on one trail ride with them. instead of recreating what i have already written ill just give you this link and you can check it out for your selves. some of you might get a kick out of the floor drains i put in along the way http://erieshoresjeeps.com/cgi/forum/in ... opic=172.0

Sooo with all that said ( all good points to think about) :ack: . if you 2 guys where about to buy a set of wheels and tires of the same size on a truck with 3.5 to 4" of lift what would your back space be if you really did not want to trim any sheet metal? if you could avoid it
-
hey what the best way to center the front axle from front to back once i get all the parts in? :wrench:
-
as far as tire size I'm running 30"x9.5" for now but i will eventualy be putting on 31"x 10" and have no plans to cut anything if i don't have to. for the rear i have a set of hellcreek 3" leaf packs on order. i won't get them until mid january so i have some time to get this all right

i just got the parts in for the front lift from rubicon express (thanks to COMANCHEROB from 4wheel parts) and i was reading though the directions, yes i do read them  , anyhow they had made mention of the bump stop for the bottom and since i just bought parts and not a "kit" I'm wondering if i over looked something important :dunno: . the springs are 3.5" of lift. the parts i ordered are lower adj control arms, adj track bar, springs, shocks and a steering shock.

it all sounded great the other day when we talked on the phone then the wife reminded me about the inlaws coming over that day :fs1: . I'm thinking that would have been my last time i could have taken it out for awile as i will soon be ripin into the front lift. i won't get the rear leafs until mid january. plus i still need to mount that skid plate before i go again. this time of year i kinda work like a slug in the garage. it should be born again sometime in febuary.

ok you win for having the coolest job so far . man you work lots of hours but bottom line do you go to work with a grin on your face at least 1/2 the time
-
cool, but I'm confused as to how i can calibrate it with the tach in my hand. or is it a trial and error type thing?
-
i got the guage cluster installed finaly today the jb weld seemed to work ok. everything works fine but is there a way to calibrate the tack. at idle it reads 200 rpms

strange as it may sound i found a 90 comanche 2wd at the yard today with a d44 in it so i yanked it out and brough it home with me. i think ist a limited slip. i also was able to get a rear slider window out of her  if it only had a roll bar it would have been a perfect day. looks like i will be give a re-gear a try some time in the near future if your chart is corect and it has 3.07's.
-
if i sould be lucky enough to find an MJ with a d44 in it. what could i expect to find inside those housings?

Just did head gasket...still something awry.
johnr replied to turboxr's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
i replaced a head gasket in a chevy 350 that was sucking coolent badly. it took about 15 to 20 minutes to burn all the old coolant out of the exhaust. -
be careful of the plastic conector at the top of speedo cable. 24 year old plastic is kind of brittle. the hole thing snaped off of the cable sheeth. JB weld to the rescue

ill take mine off road for some mild stuff. i went about a month ago with a local jeep club to wellsville. there where a lot of fist timers on the trail including my self. the guy who lead my group kept us on the mild trails, i guess they where they seem to be as rough as i would like to go on. my truck is stock for now its a 4 cyl 4 speed with 30" x 9.5 BFG KO tires. I'm about a week away from putting on a Rubicon express 3" lift on it on the front with a Hellcreek 3" leaf pack on the rear, a JCR offroad t-case belly skid plate. i have front factory tow hooks with JCR bumper/frame renforcment brackets the rear has a modified step bumper with d-rings tied into the frame. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oz5uGpac ... rofilepage
