  1. I need a frame mounted hitch but I am unsure which universal to buy. Any input?
  2. I didn't have anyone to help me when I bled my clutch after my ZJ engine swap so I gravity bled the clutch. The pedal is firm with no spongyness whatsoever. I don't know if its the right thing to do but gravity bleeding got me on the road.
  3. Anyone running the 4wd Moog variable rate coils? Any lift over stock 2wd coils? Hows ride?
  4. I have a ZJ engine in my 91. My engine is a 98. As long as you use the MJ intake manifold and motor mount brackets a ZJ long block will bolt right on in.
  5. As far as I know you just need to tell them if you have a Spicer 35 or 44.
  6. The zinc in motor oil is mainly to help prevent wear on our flat tappet camshaft lobes. Rotella is a good oil, but Chrevron Delo 400 Multigrade 15W40 is CI-4 diesel engine oil plus and still has 1300 ppm zinc (Rotella has only 1000 ppm). So that's what I've been using for years. :D Don, I thought flat-tappet meant a non-hydraulic lifter? Is the 4.0 still considered flat-tappet like an air-cooled VW or Porsche engine? I am confused about that. Where can I find the CI-4 oil? All I seem to find is CJ-4...
  7. NICE! Did you replace the stalk too?
  8. I'm sorry as well. I can run too tight of a ship...
  9. Don't take this the wrong way but - you need to attend a night class on basic grammar and spelling. There are usually classes for non-native english speakers to help them learn engine properly. In this day and age, with the amount of competition in the world, you need to learn how to write and spell properly. Again, just trying to help. Some of your posts I almost don't even understand. I hope you take my advice and begin this week (don't use spell check until you can start spelling and structuring sentences properly on your own). :waving: You misspelled english..... :shake: :shake: Why do you feel the need to be a d0uche... His grammer and spelling are not that bad... Why don't you read your post to yourself... :thwak: You realize that misspelling was intentional...making my causal connection...you might want to heed my advice too :wavey: Sorry for trying to point a developing mind in the right direction...? Your definition of "not that bad" means room for much improvement. Lets not get off topic now. Carpet is a good option. I have the rockauto.com carpet kit. Originally I had the factory rubber mat and I can tell you the carpet is much cozier.

  11. Something seems off. You should be able to pull 1 U-bolt at a time with weight taken off the axle. Try putting the entire rear up off the ground on jackstands. You don't need to be high, just an inch off the ground will give you the room to unbolt 1 at a time. Remember to use U-bolt nuts (taller). Also make sure you have the jack stands secure.
  12. Is Goodyear Authority any good?
  13. Its a compressor and you don't have to buy the pulley to take its place because you have the compressor doing that. When its not engaged its literally just a pulley. If for some reason you don't like looking at the compressor then you can get a Dorman dummy pulley ac eliminator pulley and bracket.
  14. Do you plan on installing a turbo diesel in your MJ? :hateputers:
  15. How about Authority? http://www.walmart.com/ip/Wrangler-Authority/11983156
  16. How much longer are we talking about?
  17. Well I did dynamat the entire floor and back of the cab with some butyl sound deadener stuff :) :) I am not that concerned about sound because I'll be adding more sound insulation to the floor and cab corners up to the headliner plus headliner insulation. What I want to know is whether they run true and track well. I've had lots of really well made Goodyears and lots of really poopy ones and even some that were completely out of round. I am obviously only going to buy tires made in :USAflag: but it doesn't have to be the Duratrac. I've had tons of BFG MT's and they aren't siped you literally slide in any wet condition. I've had SSR's and they are siped and stop well but they are too much for what I'll be doing with my MJ.
  18. Anyone got some Duratracs by Goodyear? I am thinking of getting some 31's. Looks like a mud terrain that is siped, which will help with braking and ice.
  19. Good luck. I burned up my 35 bearings...actually the previous owner burned my Dana 35 up and so I replaced it this week with a 44. A good upgrade.
  20. It did but you'll need new perches welded on for use in an MJ. Also he has the axle upside down in that picture :D
  21. I could be mistaken but I believe my rear valve was replaced in the 2000's by the Jeep dealer. You figure they had or maybe even still have a supply of them laying around. My valve looks new. I left it on when I did my 44 swap but I don't like the bleeding procedure that you allegedly have to follow in order to get a proper bleed so I will likely remove it and plug up the proportioning valve or get an XJ valve. 10-4. I know Hornbrod disagrees with me, but I try to learn from experience. The height-sensing valve in my '88 MJ was functional, too ... right up to the day the old man in the Buick cut me off and I had to make a panic stop. The height-sensing valve exploded. Considering that 1992 was the last year for the MJ, that means the NEWEST of those gilhoolies is now a minimum of 19 years old. I don't trust them. I'm a bit funny about brakes -- when I stomp on the peddle, I sort of prefer that the system not blow up. I grew up in the era before they had proportioning valves -- I can deal with too much brakes a lot better than I can deal with standing on the peddle with both feet and not even slowing down very much.
  22. http://southjersey.craigslist.org/cto/2255533781.html This looks GOOD
  23. A good used one from a yard will come with a warranty so you will know if it works or not. Even if you rebuild it - know that a quick "side job" rebuild by a friend is a quick "side job" rebuild by a friend and not always a perfect job. Doesn't have to be a bad job but just be weary that a Jeep assembled original with low miles and a fluid change is probably infinitely better than a "rebuild" by a a friend who is a "trans guy."
  24. Lets get a long post going updated with pictures YOU'VE taken. I'll start: Just a good couch.
