  1. its gotta be an 86 if it has the 2.8 in it....Jeep discontinued that and the 4.0 was introduced in 87...as far as the 5.7...won't be hard just time consuming..
  2. yea ive noticed that too..but hey if it needs to be moved they move them....
  3. No prob...still got it... :D its just collecting dust in the garage
  4. great find...just make sure its the same ratio as the front or youll have to regear front or rear to match
  5. should just bolt in...your driveshaft would be fine...i would just make sure it the correct ratio to match your front axle otherwise you will run into major problems....lets get a pic of the D44 in the back of you 2wd one
  6. I fell out of my chair i was laughing so hard :D http://rides.webshots.com/video/3026513 ... 9359WVpyxw
  7. i tried to swap in some 97 door seals and it made it way difficult to shut the doors w/o slamming them...i just got OEM replacements from Teamcherokee.com too
  8. discount tire....the american racing soft 98's...$35 a piece and full warranty
  9. OH MY?!?!?!? :dunce: :ack:
  10. yea i knew there was a couple i forgot....was hoping someone would chime in with the others :D
  11. measured my d/s and it is: 43 center to center
  12. no....the only ones were the: -chief -sport -"x" -eliminator -laredo the honcho was in the Fullsize cherokee's and J-10's
  13. you can see the console in the middle of the pic...thats the smallest console put in the jeep
  14. SWB would work...I'm thinking a LWB shaft would be better b/c i could always cut it to fit but rather not..just want to swap one in and be done with it...yea your measurement would be very helpful..THX
  15. I'm gunna measure it up tomorrow and see if its any different...i have the factory D44 so i might try and find the D35 shaft if its any longer
  16. yea i took it out of the truck and made sure to be careful b/c i was going to put it back in but found a full console and put it in instead... :D
  17. nah same thing, just punch the little chap-stick holder out and insert your 4x4 selector panel thing yup exactly what he said....mine already has the "coin holder" removed b/c it was a 4wd one...if you want a pic of it ill post one up tomorrow so u can see it..just pm me...if you look in my project page you can see a pic of it when i had the bench still in it
  18. when you did your OTK kit did you have to address the trackbar...like relocate it up to keep the steering geometry the same???
  19. yea the tiny console can be found in some XJ...i have a spare maroon one if ya need one...just lemme know...just collecting dust in the garage
  20. My 4wd MJ had a bench in it...the shifters in the XJ and MJ are identical...no difference in them or how they mount...they are all floor mounted
  21. the steering will be ok for now...until i put a OTK kit on it...my main concern is the rear d/s i don't want to spend a bunch o money on a SYE and d/s just yet...could i get a LWB 2wd shaft and have it shortened and balaced to the correct measurement and run that or would it still be short?? I'm thinking a 2wd LWB shaft would be plenty long enough-->just shorten to correct length and save up for the SYE and d/s later.... Worth a shot?? any other D/S that would work??
  22. yea I'm debating on whether to do a +97 swap on the MJ....have a handle on a white 97 clip that will match the paint on my MJ already...don't know as of yet what to do
  23. Thx...i looked around and found a clip of the 40series on a XJ and loved it so i put one on and never looked back.... :D i have a Gibson muffler on the XJ and ill get a clip of that up so everyone can hear that one...
  24. the gears would swap but the entire axle will not bolt up unless you weld in new perches...easier than gear setup...as far as better...not really same axle as your MJ just geared differently as "FX" said 4.10 w/ stock tires will really suck for highway...4.10's should run a minimum of 32" tires with a 4.0L/5spd the XJ buckets will fit in fine w/MJ bench or bucket floor brackets...did the swap in my MJ...look at my project page and youll see
