  1. Is this the one that is/was up in Lewisville?
  2. I hate to keep asking everyone questions, but I'm going to nonetheless, so please bear with me. The Comanche I'm looking at has developed a problem with the A/C. It used to work just fine, but the last time I test drove it I was cycling through the heat & A/C controls th A/C got stuck on defrost. It seemed to still be blowing cold air, but no matter where I set the discharge, it would just blow throught the defrost vents at the windshield. What might this problem be and does anyone know about what I would cost to fix? Here in Texas, I need A/C 10 months out of the year. Thanks for your help. ---------> This board is GREAT, by the way!
  3. I've seen here, and on other sites, that some MJs have developed cracked frames that couldn't be fixed. Subsequently, the trucks had to be parted-out or scrapped. Is this more common for the MJ frames than other for truck frames? Is it more common in other parts of the country/continent than in others due to the environment? :dunce: Where is the most common place for the cracks to start or be? Finally, can you see the frame cracks easily with your eyes by crawling around underneath of it or does it have to be on a lift to be able to be detected? Pics would be helpful if any are available. As always, thanks in advance for and advice you are able to give!
  4. Is the "J8" anything like the "JT" concept? If so, you guys are right, it's no MJ ... but I'd like one! :brows: More photos here ------> http://www.offroaders.com/tech/jeep/Jeep-JT.htm
  5. Good question. Right now they are the standard stock tire size (15 in. ?) ... As you may be able to tell, I haven't bought the truck I'm looking at yet. I'm trying to 'edumicate' myself the best I can beforehand. I would be using it more as a daily commuter than an off-road vehicle, if I get it. The only times I would take it off-road would be for fishing with my son or camping close-by with him. So, I guess 4:10's aren't really what I'd be looking for then, huh? Will staying with the standard D35 rear be good enough for a daily commuter then?
  6. I may have found an '84 2.8 liter XJ (4x4 w/ auto.) that has a D35 rear end with 4:10 gears. Is this rear end any better than the D35 from an '89 4.0 liter MJ w/ a 5-speed? (I'm not sure what the gears are in it. How can I find out?) Would it swap right into an MJ? ... Would it even be worth it? :hmm: Also, will the buckets from an '84 XJ fit in an '89 MJ with MJ bucket seat brackets? How about the front & rear fender flares? I think the front flares are the same, but are th rear flares? I'm obviously new to this MJ world and I'm just trying to get a clue right now. :ack: Thanks, in advance! ;) :USAflag:
