  1. ya, he has a sick TJ.
  2. the coils are the same length on the V8 as the normal I6, but like you noted, the V8 has thicker coils (higher spring rate) and don't compress as far. look on rocklizardoutfitters.com (i think thats the site) and there is a little bit about V8 coils under the guides for the BB section. 100th post :brows:
  3. same thing happened to me. did anyone else notice that the Pub was really messed up with the dates? like there were some from march of 05 near the top
  4. jage, are you glad that it didnt sell, and that you are keeping it?
  5. pete- that pic is PERFECT! thanks a bunch!!
  6. Eagle...thanks for takint the time to write that. I appreciate it!!
  7. if its all adjustables (upper and lower) 300 might be good, however i don't know about RC quality. if its just for lowers, you can get RE for about $240 from jeepinoutfitters.com with free shipping. ive tried to think of ways to get a cheap kit. like buying a RC kit, then using RE drop brackets + a 1-2" puck to get more height...but it keeps coming out to be about $1000. i think that either you pony up the muns to buy the RE kit, or you look for used, or you go with RC (cause i hear that rustys is out of the question). ive thought MANY times about getting a RC kit for my XJ, and ive searched jeepforum many times and i have NOT yet read a comment from somone who owned a RC kit who said they were displeased with it. i would not hesitate buy one right now if i had the money (thats just me). the only reason I'm not going to get the RC kit for my Mj is because i want the RE kit with the drop brackets, and upper and lower control arms. hope this helps.
  8. thanks for the replies so far guys, this will be a huge help when i tear into the MJ again. eagle, why do you recomend that i block the bottom one, and run the line back from the front nose?
  9. Thankth Pete! ok, 1 O2 sensor makes life easier . now i have to decide if i want to put the XJ prop valve in, or keep the MJ one and use a T to join the split. I'm just running 1 line back to the axle. the height sensing thing-a-ma-jig is gone, and it will not be on the road a lot, and i will not be hauling with it. any recomendations...swap XJ or keep MJ and T it together?
  10. ok, ive asked a lot of questions, and i have 3 more. instead of making more posts I'm going to try to use this one, and just post questions i have in this. question 1: my MJ has no cat now (PO took it off) and to make it leagal i need one. i know that some CATS had O2 sensors in the CAT. would an 88 mj. reason being is that if its supposed to be there, i need to get the wiring for it. question 2: the picture below is courtesy of Pete (if you want me to take one of my own let me know and ill modify this post ASAP!) the part that the 2 brake lines from the MC go into...whats that called? is it the proportioning valve, or is that in the rear? anyways, i have my stock MJ one, and an XJ one. should i use the stock MJ one, or swap in the XJ one. the XJ one has the front port plugged (like in pete's pic). question 3: the ebrake assembly under the truck is messed up. there is the cable going into the bracket thats attached to the frame, but there is no way to hook the e-brake cables to it. can i use the ebrake hadware from my XJ on this? i know that was a vague explanation, but its late and my hands are shaking. ill take a pic soon to show what I'm talking about. like i said before, if i have any more questiosns ill post in here instead of starting a new thread. thanks!!

    small lift

rustys sells (i don't think he makes it) a 4" mj lift spring. you could use an XJ shackle to bring it down to 3" i guess. CW has the springs, and he has given them a good review.

    Help

id keep an eye out on craigslist. not sure how many there are in your area, but everyonce and a while one will pop up around here. also look on ebay. i found mine on Jeepforum.com. one day i decided to look in the F/S forum and there was one for $150 an hour away. keep an eye out and eventualy one will find you.
  17. long shot, but you could call a jeep dealership and ask if there was a difference between the trannys. just a thought
  18. I swapped in a XJ bucket seat to test fit it yesterday. i had like 6" of head room. However there was no headliner on the roof. i like the way it sits, but it is definately a LITTLE higher then the stock seats. I'm about 6" ish and i was comfy. I will take pics like Jage did if you want to see how my head looks against the celing.
  19. OK this isnt a real update, but ive made myself a new goal. By the end of July of 2007, i want to have it drivable, street legal, RE 5.5" kit, and 34" Trxus OR BFG AT or MT tires. and front and rear recovery.
  20. ooook i got ya mike. i thought you were talkin about the TC crossmember...that was a little confusing for me. thanks for the clarification!!
  21. ok, i found the 8, or i think i did. I'm going to go out again tomorrow and dump some more PB blaster on them. thanks for the help guys!! mike, I'm a little confused about the Xmember. Ill take another look tomorrow, and if i need further clarification ill post it up.
  22. I was hoping to get a JCR stage 3 or 4 bumper with shackles and a 2" reciever. Ill deffinately have somone beef up the area, if i am not able to do it myself (lack of a welder). thanks guys. my brother bought a JCR offroad winch bumper and one side sticks out 1 1/2" further from the body than the other... make sure they get it right. I'm happy with my stage 2 XJ sliders, but ill def keep what happened to your bro in mind. thanks for the heads up!
  23. can anyone post pics/give me an explanation of the location of the 8 bolts that hold on the bed to the frame? so far ive found 2, and I'm missing 6. I know that the gas tank and other things need to come off, but i think i have those covered. i know its a PITA, but the frame, and bed have rust that i need to take care of, and i can't with then bed on the truck. thanks for your help.
  24. yeah, i wouldnt skimp on the unibody tie-ins...i think they are very necessary. thanks pete, that eased my mind. i was worried that i might have to scrap my MJ (a little extreme, i know)
  25. I was hoping to get a JCR stage 3 or 4 bumper with shackles and a 2" reciever. Ill deffinately have somone beef up the area, if i am not able to do it myself (lack of a welder). thanks guys.
