  1. The threads are coming apart at the seam in the picture, I'm sure further use will only result in it tearing very near in the future, what's the best way to prevent this without re-upholstery? Seat cover...maybe one of those heat applied patches from underneath facing upward to add strength?? yeah it needs cleaned too
  2. My 86 I acquired a few short months ago, my first MJ, I had a nice black XJ sport but just wasn't what I wanted, ran across a FB marketplace ad where a guy had the MJ and wanted to trade for a Cherokee XJ, and voila! I got the XJ cheap as it was a no start, $1750, only ended up needing a coil, the XJ was extremely clean, but I didn't mind the trade, I got an almost new condition spare long bed, 2 doors and tailgate with the trade. Will continue to upgrade it and drive it but may not keep it as being 6' tall+ tends to be a pain getting in the truck, same with the XJ, always have to duck my head somewhat, seem almost too big for the truck, I'd really like a J-series full size, but maybe lowering the seat bracket an inch or two might just do the job. from this to this, no regrets
  3. I've got the CC decal on one side and putting the "Bigfoot toting an American flag" for the other side or I would have used the back window. I added one to my TJ also early last year.
  4. Aren't for just Wranglers, why should they get all the attention lol? Decal and a razor blade later....
  5. Anything you don't want, give away, might be likely taken then, where are you located?
  6. Not sure, good question, even though the 2.8L is absurdly under powered, it's actually growing on me some as I adjust my shift points through the gears. Value....It is after all the first year, I think originality might hold some value and increase over time, but unless it's pristine original, low mileage, I don't think it will affect the value of your vehicle, but I wouldn't scrap the 2.8 or harness etc, I'd donate it to an enthusiast who may have had to buy a needy truck due to only affording a repairable one. Post the parts in the forum classified so 86 owners may have a chance for the stuff you don't want. Myself, I don't plan on keeping the 2.8L forever, and plan on transplanting a V6 like maybe Buick 3.8L super charged motor eventually. I'll most likely do the same with my components/motor, I'm sure there's someone who will want/benefit from it.
  7. no, these...(both 92dB-45rms, peak 135w) plenty for the little truck, currently have a Pioneer radio
  8. When I got my MJ the seller gave me an almost perfect tailgate, but mine only has a few mostly surface rust areas that are repairable, will probably fix mine before swapping it out. Decided to go with some better speakers as well, the Crunch junk I put in suck, found some nice 4x6 and 5.25 Infinity's for a decent price, don't want to cut up perfect panels. Everything will remain hidden and stock
  9. just saw a set for sale used either on Fleabay or craigslist or marketplace, memory eludes me, but not very much, less than 30 bucks, but I imagine he doesn't care about the rarity of them, I'd say worth closer to 50-ish, just my .02

I can't believe how many are for sale in Ohio, a project 88 just sold for $600, no drivetrain but looked semi solid with title, plenty others
  12. Afraid if I sell one someone will rear end me and damage mine. After seeing the prices of tailgates and then tail lights, I could probably part mine for 3 times what I have into it, including a near perfect extra long bed with all the wiring, 2 extra doors...
  13. $600 bucks I gotta figure out which one I'm keeping and sell my spare.
  14. I guess if someone wants to use only OEM for restoration and resale value, they do seem to be going up in collectors eyes and value
  15. I know our truck parts that are unique to our trucks would be more expensive but thought that was silly, other than personal sales I haven't seen them cheap anywhere, and no I don't need one, I have 2, just ran across this and was surprised.
