Hello all 1. A few weeks ago I got the fuel transfer system replaced (pump, filter etc). Previously I had been getting, by my estimation, 11-13mpg, about 150-170 miles to the tank (18gal). Now i am getting about 130 miles to the tank, which seems like a big difference. I have noticed that since these parts were replaced, it has really struggled keeping a decent idle on hot starts (will go up to about 500-750 rpm and drop down to about 250 rpm and than go back for a minute). It didn't used to do that. My driving style hasn't changed. Truck is basically stock (similar size tires, no lift). For exhaust, it has a pacesetter 6-2-1 and than starightpipe to a fairly quiet muffler. No cat. How can I improve my fuel economy/what changed? Why did it get so bad? 2. How much work goes into installing lunchbox lockers? 3. Will doing a cold air intake make my fuel economy better?

Ax15 differences

Already been said but this is the pilot bushing you will need if the trans is 1992 and newer. PB-7501357 https://www.novak-adapt.com/catalog/pilot-bushings/amc-ax15/ And advance adapters has an appropriate clutch disc alignment tool that you will need if you use the +92 trans/pilot bushing. https://www.advanceadapters.com/4321 -

The skidding didn't come back until I had been driving for a few days. -

I got the trans out and was ready to put the new one in until I noticed the ends of the primary shafts looked different. Sure enough the old one is about 4mm smaller than the new one. What can I do about this? What are my options? -

It stops when I let off the brake. Sometimes I have to give it a bit more throttle right after it happened to stop it from stalling. -

Yep, where are you located? Also, are you converting to a 4wd? Otherwise I believe the trans will not work for you unless it's for another truck not in your signature -

I don't believe so, how can I check? It has been converted to a console hand brake style. How much would the cable move when I pull the hand brake? -
Rebuilt my drum brakes a couple months ago (did not replace the wheel cylinders) and when I stop fast and I am going less than 25mph it will start skidding the back right tire. I replaced the wheel cylinders and I believed the issue had stopped but I came back after a few days. I took off the brake drum again and noticed I had forgotten to put the plate in right below the top of the brake shoes, which serves as a backer plate for a couple springs and a cable with an eye on it. I thought that fixed it but it is still doing it. Doesn't matter if it's wet or dry out. I am at a loss as to what could be causing it. Any help would be appreciated

So I was driving home from work today and it popped out of third gear. So I had some time to test the conditions for it to do that and found out it was only when accelerating and shifting into 3rd gear that it would pop out. Downshifting from 4th or just costing in 3rd gear is not a problem. Also, when shifting into 3rd and 4th gear it will grind sometimes. Any suggestions? I also have two spare ax15 transmissions if it comes to it.

Trim color help

Thank you. -
The plastic a pillar trim (charcoal) is broken. I took it out and have a replacement from my beater Cherokee but it's red. Can I spray paint it grey and if anyone knows, what color of spray should I get to match it as close as possible?
