Its a supper long trip and I'm taking it with my gf in my mj. hopefully by then ill have a toper to sleep in and all the $. ive planed on being on the road for a month and a half. have fun and don't break down :ack: ill be waiting for the road trip story
  5. just paint the tail gate "jeep" it looks a hole lot better :D
  6. A guy has offered me this axle for free. i thought it would be nice to have when i go for the 4x4 convert in a few months. but is this a blot in axle or is there more to it? thanks Brandon
  7. Steering wheel is original, and the dash trim is not 97, 97's had a completely different interior and dash. The dash trim piece had to come from a pre 97 XJ, and IIRC (don't quote me on this) the Briarwood and the Wagoneer XJ's had the wood dash trim. The pedal covers do not appear original either, but who cares about those anyway. EDIT: BTW, that is a really clean truck you have there. thanks for the fix now i know
  8. Idk 4 paying as much as u did but it is one hell of a truck. hears what i saw with out reading the build list was newer 97 dash trim (wood) tool box/bed liner every thing chrome paint job seats idk about that steering wheel shifter nob radio mats idk about any thing else hope i was a help ps great find omg  welcome to the club :waving: Brandon
  9. Keeping it original is a noble goal and I support it 110 percent. However ... this is one place where doing so is to shoot yourself in the foot. The factory tape player was a horrible piece of junk and they mostly all failed within a very few years. The chances of finding one that works are probably in the single digits. If you do find one, use it a few times and you'll be right back to an AM/FM radio. For a trucj you intend to drive, I recommend an aftermarket head with a CD player. If you're restoring it for show, then keep the radio you have. Thanks that what some body else said all i want is a stock radio that works as a fm radio the tape player would just look nice. and yeah i kinda do want the stock 1 cuz its original and it looks better for any type of show all i want is for it to work as a rdio. mine just stopped working outa no where :fs1: idc about the cd part i don't have any lol
  10. thanks thats a big help now i just need to find 1 :brows:
  11. Will a stock radio with am/fm and cassette fit into where just a AM/FM radio was? if so dose any body know where i could find 1 cheep/free. i hear people toss them but i would like to keep 1 in my mj, trying to keep original. Thanks for any and all help Brandon
  12. use fingernail palish remover
  13. ok well thanks pete once again i just got worry cuz of all of the posts with people who say they got 20 or more mpg. If you of all people say 14 should be ok then its ok to me
  14. Thanks but i all ready did somthing about the same. i had a cop friend clock me where my odo said i was going 30 he said he clocked me at 35.6 mph. at 60 (according to my odo) when I'm rly going about 72.2. by this i now did some math and found that my odo was off by 3.56 mph per every 10 mph. now i found a chart on hear to fix the odo by tire size ive just been to lazy to do it. but when my odo did work right it was reading 14 mpg so i figured I'm running at about 12 mpg now. i have know about the odo being off b4 i got the bigger tires. thats not the problem the problem is that even b4 when i had smaller tires i had horrid mpg. i was wondering what would cause this bad mpg? and thing other then a tune up (which i have done) bigger tires(shouldnt have dropped it more then 2mpg) and the bad gear rate. any thing else? Thanks :D ps i don't drive with a lead foot
  15. ... if your tires cost more then u paid for your truck
  16. yeah they are fine. thanks tho
  17. how would u check for a vacuum leak? spray something flammable around you vacume lines . if the idle changes you have a leak i thinkthat auto 4.0 mjs came with 3:55 gears. but remember its just a thought ok not a vacuum leak, what else could the bad mpg be from?
  18. how would u check for a vacuum leak?
  19. well when i got for the 4x4 convert i will get a dana 44 with 4.10 gears. but till then u thank that is what the issue is?
  20. oh yeah its off i know that but b4 i got the new tires with the supper old bald tires i got 14 on a good day. so i thank now I'm getting about 14mpg. i drove on the old tires for 1.5 months (after tune up) and 14 mpg was the average. my gearing is what ever the truck came with idk
  21. I just "tuned" it up by washing out the motor (long story) and only 2 mouths ago i replaced the spark plugs caps wire and what not. it has brand new 31" tires, auto and has no lift. and the pic below is my truck hears a link to the most up to date build http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3859502 i have not started one on hear YET . tell me if you need more info Thanks Brandon
  22. I keep hearing a lot of people saying there Comanche gets 20-30 mpg when mine get maybe 12 :huh???: have any of yall heard of this? i have a 2wd 89 pioneer 4.0 I6. if there is something that i could do about my low mpg plz let me know thanks
