  1. ok, this is the antenna lead Image Not Found and the port on the radio is the upper left hole Image Not Found
  2. my 95 parts XJ is torn apart, let me see if I can get some pics for you
  3. The antenna trigger wire is incase you have a power antenna, so it knows when to raise and lower. The actual antenna input is a separate male connection that plugs into the back of the radio
  4. http://indianapolis.craigslist.org/cto/2506601311.html I think that is what you wanted.... the outside isn't bad, I actually like the look for a lowered truck, but the interior is :ack:
  5. Wow, just insane, but working for a FD I can see how police don't like to let people speak unless they are ready. I think with that audio, let alone the video the office would be extremely lucky to still have a job after an IA investigation, but I doubt that will be... and he'll be back on the street to terrorize other members of the public and spread a bad name about CPD
  6. I pick up my first one last year, and after lots of work and money I finally got her on the road, but it seems like every time I drive her I find something else to fix :fs1:
  7. wow, I was just about to post up a very similar question, I was going to try a flush to make sure it wasn't bad coolant I had, but I think I'll just have them replace the radiator too, good pm since my truck was sitting for ~4 years before I got it back on the road
  8. :dunno: huh? - ya. i'm not seeing it. ---??? look in the green car
  9. I don't know anything about the difference in alt. sizes, but when I replaced mine on my non-ac non-e-fan truck I got the 110 (I think, the highest one available) amp and it fit in no problem
  10. I've got one with a Tach from an 89 XJ 4.0 and one without from my 88 MJ 4.0 see here for the thread I've read on here that you should be able to switch the tach to work with a 4 cyl
  11. Damn, that looks so beautiful, I'll have to mark it on my list of places to go, but I'm working the 4th so I def can't attenf, plus I think the drive might be a little long
  12. what year/engine do you have, the ballast resistor on the drivers side fender is a popular culprit, it is a white block with 2 wires attached to it, the quick check is to jump the two wires and see if it stays running
  13. I'd look at the cat. converter too,
  14. ok, well the rain was still holding off so I figured that I wasn't done for the day, I ended up swapping the rear speakers out too, now I have all 4 working!! The issue with the drivers side one was the wire that goes from the connector to the cone on the speaker was broken, The old and new speakers Image Not Found I didn't have adaptors so I just used some spare wire and the old male connector off the old speaker Image Not Found and here it is mounted in the truck, it also shows the rear speaker bracket
  15. Ok, so yesterday I stopped by a PnP and picked up a '97 ZJ valve cover, now I just need to get a gasket, new CCV parts, and some paint, so I can clean it up. I'm hoping for a Monday install date for that, But today since it stopped raining for a little bit at least, I decided to see what was up with my drivers sided door speaker, it had been working, but since I replaced my PS door speaker last week that was really the only one I heard, The old speaker was not good. Image Not Found That's exactly what the pass side speaker looked like, but some how this one was still working, And here's the new speaker that was put in. Sounds a lot better, who would have guessed :clapping: Now I just need to find the time to take the B-Pillars off to replace the rear speakers, currently only the pass side one is working, but again, not very well so I wonder what condition that one is in. While I had the door panel off I also moved the Drivers mirror from my parts '95 XJ, while not a '97+ like I'm looking for, this one I can at least move from the inside and I don't have to worry about this one moving in the wind on the highway like the old one did.
  16. Yeah, I've did even more research and found 64 cheyenne's fix, I might do that with a combination of a newer steer cover
  17. it'd be even better if the grill wasnt upside down :headpop: or wait, down side up? :D  It's funny you mention that, I've already fixed it, I just thought I did it before I took the pictures. So, after taking it on a 2 hour trip this morning, with no issue, and a return trip tonight I have an oil soaked Air filter and it even leaked out of the oil fill cap and onto the exhaust manifold cover, and after doing some research I think I'm pretty much screwed, :headpop: I didn't have an issue on short trips, so I'll have to try a compression check, but I'm not keeping my hopes up
  18. Thank you, but unfortunately it doesn't look quite as good underneath, but it's not the end of the world, I really need to find sometime this summer to take the bed off and coat the rear frame and the underside of the bed.
  19. ok, not much to post pictures of, but when they repainted the truck they must have had the doors off because where the switch goes that controls the dome lights was all painted, I had to get a wire brush in there to get a good ground again, I've replace the speaker in the pass door cause the one in there wasn't working, and it was toast, no cone left at all, next I need to put it's match in the DS door, and get some 4x6's for the b-pillar because the one on the DS isn't working.
  20. Got the dome lights working with the door switches again, (ok did that earlier in the week) and re-wired up the radio, to find out it was a complete hack job, just electrical tape holding the wires together, and replaced one speaker that wasn't working in the door, now I need to get me some 4x6 to replace the one in the b-pillar that isn't working, um, replaced the shifter boot because my old one was all torn up, and tightened this shifter knob so hopefully that won't rattle any more.
  21. Bringing this back up, I finally got some money to put into it, and got it stickered, although now I'm getting a vibration from say 45-70, gets worse with speed, then gets better the faster you go  so, I'm gonna try getting the tires balanced to see if that helps. I also finally took off the cap, Image Not Found and installed a Back Rack off a Ranger, it fits perfect width wise, but it is an inch or two shorter then the roof, but it will work with my plans for it. I just need to get a tool box for it now, I'd like to get used, but I'm looking for a black aluminum single lid, so I'll probably have to get a plain diamond plate one. and I'll put an add up in the for sale section, but if you know any one that wants a cap it's for sale.
  22. Hey, guys, I'm finally getting back to working on my Comanche, and the multi-function switch is acting up, if you wiggle it the wipers stop working and the high-beams don't work, so I'm thinking the switch is bad, I figure one from an 86-90 will work, I was wondering if a new one would work as well say 91-96 or newer, and do I have to get another one from a tilt column? If it matters its an 88 4.0 B/A-5 with intermittent wiper switch currently and tilt steering wheel. TIA
  23. sorry, Fixed in original post
  24. Not mine, but I figured someone would want them, click here
  25. not mine, but I know it is a very popular item :waving: . click here FYI I'm going to be going a different route on my 'manche
