handle missing, tailgate stuck closed
H8PVMT replied to H8PVMT's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I appreciate the offer but the bracket inside the gate is shot so unfortunately wouldn't do me much good How come most answers to jeep problems include prying with screwdrivers? -
Trying to take the cheap route I was going to pry the tranny out of reverse with a screwdriver through the reverse light hole but then came upon this issue so with no way to bleed the system out came the tranny loosened up the shifter seat and the back half of the case and it came loose, got the new clutch and slave in yesterday so hope to have it moving soon, just need to get the new fuel pump to fire up broke 6 different harbor freight tools in the process and each time my 15 year old craftsman tools did it with ease, hoooooray china

Join your local club wherever you live, most guys are more than willing to stop by and help out for pizza/beer.....I know I would Get your shaft the right size for 4x4, then its about 400 bucks and a few hours to do the whole thing. You might think you can't do it but if you have a jack and a set of wrenches you can do it easily I suck at wrenching honestly but still accomplished two engine swaps and axle swaps

I thought the jk front 44's were basically a Dana 30

Manual says to get a new washer or use rtv on it
-
I got my mc off Amazon for20 bucks, only takes 5 mins to swap it, I've read a lot about slave cylinders being crap right out the door also
-
Probably not your issue but I know you have to put a New diameter pilot bearing when changing from 2wd to 4wd, might be worth googling that route for a ba/ax15 swap
-
First 5 speed?

Thought I read somewhere you can not resurface them, putting a new clutch in and want to get everything at once while I'm in there Infos in the sig Doug

My old xj was 3.07 with 31s, never has a problem off the line
-
Fill the mc if empty and pump the clutch, if your foot gets wet its the master, if your tranny leaks its slave
-
I just picked up the line on Amazon for 18 bucks, most places wanted 60 See if your mats look like this Mc was empty, filled it up and pressed clutch and soaked my sock in dot3 Only headlights and buzzer work on mine, panel is so bad best fuse I pulled was only in three pieces
