  1. Would I be able to bypass the line for now to get the new motor started and tested?
  2. Sweet!
  3. 91-95 XJ, ZJ and YJ. 93-95 on the ZJ. Should have the two fuel ports at the front of the engine.
  4. Please don't do what my PO did to move the crossmember back...
  5. Hey guys, having trouble getting a fuel rail from the junkyard. The only CORRECT fuel rails I have founders on complete motors that they won't part out... Is there any chance that I can just delete the fuel return line and use the rail from the 97?
  6. Why does that have to be in Seattle... Good luck finding one of those down here! I'd grab it in a heartbeat!
  7. Even better! Thanks guys, that will make the trip a lot faster. It's about 40 miles to the nearest JY, so time becomes a real issue when your trying to fit the trip in after work.
  8. Thanks! I was hoping to finish tonight, but I guess a junkyard run is in the plans for this week...
  9. Hey guys. So yesterday I tore out my old 4.0 that was limping its way to heaven. Today I took the 97 and dropped it into my MJ. I've done a ton of research but like always, something was missed. I'm running the 97 block, head, intake, horizontal oil pump housing, and P/S pump bracket. Kickdown and throttle cables. I'm running the 87 distributor, alternator and a/c brackets. Starter, Flywheel, and exhaust manifold. Deleted the egr port and retained my O2 sensor. At this point I've got everything in and buttoned up except for the fuel rail. How did y'all set up your rail to go from a system with a return line to a system without one? And I'm not sure which injectors I should use? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
  10. I'll play. My wife says I am addicted, but to me it's more of a history collection. Safe is filled with different types from a1st model dragoon to Sten mk3. From trainer .22lr's to built .338's. But out of all, this was my favorite... Until they made me turn it in.
  11. Nice build man. IMHO I'd keep it as simple as possible. And if your using the Rodeo axle with 4.30 gears, keep in mind your gonna still have to re gear it or have some 4.30 gears cut for your front axle. Hopefully someone else can chime in, but didnt the 200-2003? 4.0HO's have head issues?

  13. That was actually one of the things they did correctly. The firewall section was spliced in from the 89 donor jeep. It's hard to tell that it has even been touched. I'm sure it will be more noticeable when I get the existing motor out, but from above you can't tell.
  14. I was reading through you thread and I can't wait to see when it's done! I have some input from personal experience that may be of some help depending on what kind of wheeling you plan on doing though. I found the Thornbirds to be a really great tire, top of the line pusher. We wheel in a lot of red clay down here, so a good siping tire is a must. I ran them on my old BroncoII and a friend of mine ran them on his cherokee. But what we found out is that if your wheeling in the rocks or a dry dirt they don't grab wry well and they slip a lot. We figured it to be that way due to the weight of our vehicles, they were decent when we ran them at around 5psi, but you'll pull them off the bead very easily due to the thick sidewall. The way we fixed this is by running a TSL Truxus MT up front and the Thornbirds in the rear. The Truxus have us the grip and the sidewall flex we were looking for in the rocks and still held up very well in the mud. And the Thornbirds were still there to push us through the terrain when it was less than ideal. Hope that helps before you go spend that kind of money on tires. Same concept as when the rock racers run swampers in the front and boggers in the rear. Except the tires I mentioned are better suited for lighter vehicles. Have fun! And welcome I the good ol US of A!

    Need

When I get around to my be bob I'll keep you in mind. Should be next month sometime if work permits. Mine is the chrome step bumper and is in decent shape.
  16. That's awesome man. Clean build too! I need something like that for fishing trips.
  17. Thanks. I started looking for a really clean one back in 09, but the Corps kept me from wanting to throw money at another Rig. So it's been on my mind for awhile. Finally a deal came along that I couldn't pass up.
  18. I have an entire LPG multifuel kit that I pulled off an XJ with 130k. I've been thinking about selling it to find more MJ parts but I have no clue what it's worth. Even got the 22? Gal tank an all of the hoses/dash wiring. And the computer to run and control the system. This tank is pretty big, but would fit up against the cab pretty well. Here's one of my tank. Here's. some pics I've scrounged up on line when I was debating on installing the system. There is a lot more information on the European forums on the LPG conversions.
  19. Now it was time to get to of the dry rotted 32's and find some rims that were more my style. Found some 34x10.5x15 TSL Super Swampers on CL for a really good price so I jumped on them. The back spacing isn't quite right but they are much better than what I had! I drive it like this for a week and started feeling a loss in power. More than just a gearing issue. Put stock tires on it and couldn't even spin them... Motor had bad blow by and low oil pressure. So the search began for a new motor. I found a guy parting out a 99XJ with 130k on the motor and called him instantly. And I'm glad I did! Turns out that the XJ had been owned by the state and was run on LPG it's entire life! I met him the next morning with tools in hand. I paid 300 for the motor and entire LPG kit including the 22gal tank! When I got home I was even happier after I pulled the intake and valve cover. Clean as a whistle... then I got my IRO adjustable double shear trac bar installed because the death wobble was the worst I've ever experienced. It got better with the skinnier tires, but needs to be addressed. And the jeep has sat waiting for me to find time to work on it since... My boy turns 1 on the 24th so a lot of the family will be in town so I plan to do the motor swap this weekend for sure. I've got the 4.0HO all prepped and ready to drop in. I've already modified the TPS sensor to fit the new TB. And I have the throttle cable and kick down cable coming in tomorrow through the local Napa. So wish me luck! Hope i didn't forget anything that will be involved in the motor swap. Oh, and I picked this up yesterday (Tuesday)... Time to remove the front bumper and build a new cross member! That's it for now. Hope I can keep y'all interested and get your input as I go along with making it into what I want. I've been in the BroncoII world for a good long while now, but sold my rig when my son was born. It was an 86 with the dana35TTB cut and turned and a ford 8.8 31spline disk rear, removable doors. Home bent snorkel, stinger, 6" suspension lift and 3" body lift on 35's. explorer 4.0 swap. my wife ready to go to the rocks! (6months pregnant)
  20. Alright guys. Been lurking this site for a few weeks now and I figured it was about time that I posted something up. I picked up an 86 long box MJ that was someone else's project. And they didn't really know what they were doing. Literally traded a cheap pistol for the truck... Its white with the light blue interior. Auto trans and a 4.0 from an 89 cherokee in it when I picked it up and the 30/35 combo sitting on dry rotted 32x12.5x15 mall terrains. The front fenders were cut and a RE 3.5" cheapo lift with 1" spacers. Stock arms, steering, and trac bar. The rear of the truck hasn't been touched. The AAL's were sitting in the bed along with the spring clamps, all 4 new shocks, and brake line extensions... Oh. And the headliner board! (Thank god) the MJ looked like a beater sand truck. I felt like I was saving it lol. It looked like a tornado had hit the inside of the cab. All the panels had been taken off, headliner removed, parts laying everywhere. But after taking inventory, all the pieces were there and in good shape. It had the rubber floor in it and I was really worried about rust but when I pulled the mat up I only found one quarter size hole in the driver side floor! Here's what it looked like when I got it Now it was at my house and it was time to get started! I already had a plan before I went and looked at it haha. First I installed the rear lift and shocks, and remove the sway bar completely. Then I removed the rear flares and folded in the fender lip. I found a small area of rust under one flare so I'll address that at a later date. Time to see what it would do with the lift at this point! Took it to the loading dock and flexed it out. I'm happy for what it is. But it definitely won't do for what I'm used to.
