  1. I know this may sound simple and be something that you have already thought of but to make sure it is the fuel pump on a no-start you can try turning your key to run before starting. Listen for the little 1-second long buzzing sound of the fuel pump firing up and then turn the key to start. No buzz = no fuel pump. It also seems to shorten your cranking time a tad, as well. Got in this habit when I was driving a '93 CTD Dodge as you have to turn the key and wait for the light to come on before starting it. After 12 years and 230,000 miles of doing that it has stuck. Hearing the fuel pump was something I just noticed while I was doing this in my other cars.
  2. I can say that they got #1. & #2 right even if I think that the order should be reversed. TCU fan's biggest complaint is the drop from 3 to 6. I think that they should not have been 3rd.
  3. 8 would work for me. And an extra weekend of meaningful games to bring in ad revenue wouldn't hurt them either. That would cut back on that delay as well
  4. No one seemed to like the BCS but I am certain that right about now there are more than few folks who aren't any more thrilled with the selection committee. How do you feel? I am obviously biased but I think that OSU belongs in. I agree that Baylor & TCU suffered for playing a laughably weak non-conference schedule. But usually such games are played early in the season. How do you not then punish Alabama for taking a week off at the end of the season by scheduling Western Carolina University? That schedule padding at that point in the season alone should have put Oregon over Alabama for that claim to be consistent. The question of padding the score to impress voters comes in. Looking to OSU they were a 4.5 point underdog against Wisconsin. Is blowing out #13 what got them in the play offs? What is the impact of such blow outs of quality opponents? Blowing out a FCS or 1-aa team or even a 2-10 conference opponent should not impress anyone but what about a team with a high ranking in offense, defense and schedule? I expect people to be hating the selection committee as much as they hated the BCS in 4 3 2 1....
  5. Part of the confusion may be that, IIRC, an AW4 attached to a 242 has always been 23 spline? Or am I misremembering?
  6. It Is On! Tide vs. Buckeyes. Congratulations to Alabama on being the #1 regular season team. I look forward to this match up.
  7. I have never really had an issue with Alabama or Sabin until the Kiffin deal. Kiffin makes Myer look like a saint. Alabama's employment of him sort of takes away any moral high ground they had for casting stones at others. While I have longed condemned not just Florida's but the entire SEC's history of running up scores I don't know if it was unnecessary in this case as selection criteria is now entirely subjective. Who knows what will influence the committee? The head is already saying that they need to go to 8 teams asap to make it actually work.
  8. You still can't mention Woody's name within 500' of the Clemson campus without violating a restraining order.. #5 OSU's 59-0 over #13 Wisconsin is IMHO more impressive then any other win today. TCU? Big Deal. I think the state champion in our biggest high school division could give Iowa State a game. #4 Florida St has been underwhelming and that includes the #4's 2 point win over 16th ranked but still ho hum Ga. Tech today. Baylor/ K-state? A good when for Baylor but not a dismantling. Again....tomorrow will be interesting.
  9. Buckeyes destroying the Badgers. #2 defense in the country.? No problem we will just punch up 45+ points. So they have the #1 rusher in the country with 408 yards in a single game a couple of weeks ago? Isn't that cute. 3rd string QB starting first game after taken over for the 2nd heisman contender lost this season and it is the league championship against the #13 team in the country? Just another day on the AstroTurf. Tomorrow's selection meeting will be interesting. Some may be wishing for the BCS back. It may even be us.
  10. Short of getting a local graphics shop duplicate them I think you are out of luck
  11. I don't DD my 225,000 mile '91 but I could. It has no problem with doing 400 mile round trip parts runs or driving a couple of hundred miles going to and from a park including 6 hours or so of wheeling. Took the valve cover off to replace the gasket and it looked new under there. Great oil pressure.
  12. Sweet I run a short turn down just before the wheel well opening after a large welded turbo muffler. It directs the exhaust into that opening and cuts the resonance issue back a lot. I wanted an easy to build in the drive system because I built it in the driveway.
  13. Donnie Chambers and I go way back. For two guys who have never met in person...... I am on the "supporters" list on his website. It says I joined in 9/08 but that is just the date he migrated everything over from the original site. I forget when he started it.... He and Don Mills where who I was discussing Ivy Branch with on FB today. it was the OffRoadOhio group

  15. Yeah, the timing is off to make this realistic in my eyes. It would either have to be the "halo" as gogmorgo mentioned or a tease. You know in the last couple of years of production the Fiero wasn't half bad for the era. They got some of the early issues worked out.
  16. Hmmmm....
  17. I have friends in eastern Ohio that run Wellsville almost weekly but their rigs are very built. Funny that you should mention Ivy Branch as we were discussing a spring run there for us mildly built rigs in a Facebook group just today! 240 miles/3:30 minute drive from me. But I will get with you when we go. it would be fun.
  18. http://www.caranddriver.com/features/c8-chevrolet-corvette-exclusive-what-to-expect-from-the-heart-stopping-mid-engined-zora-feature I would be surprised to see it on sale by 2017. That would be a short life cycle for the hot selling C7. Supposedly GM is upset that the average C7 buyer is "on the wrong side of 50." Heck, How many 20 somethings have the scratch to by a C7 toy? And the C8 looks to be more. Make mine a stealthy grey....
  19. Thanks again. It works for me. My first MJ was nice enough that I worried when I took it off road. This one? Not so much. The effort/investment to repair this thing far exceeds its value so in my mind it really is the perfect one to take a chance with. First MJ
  20. I have heavily siped MT's. I drive in rain & snow with no issue. I don't even notice it on wet roads. On snow and ice you have to be aware it is there when making a 90 deg. turn from a stop or something but that is true with a limited slip, as well. This is the second street driven jeep I have owned with a rear Aussie. This new version is notably smoother. But even with the old one in a lifted KJ with 31" MT's and a 6-speed stick I drove it year-round and never had an issue. And we do get a little winter here... decent snow, ice, freezing rain.... My OSDP ( opposite sex domestic partner) drove the MJ to work the other day in 5-6" of snow with ice underneath and never put it in 4wd with no issues. My buddy has one in the back of his mild-mannered 45 yr old wife's lifted KJ on 32's and she DD's it year round and has for 60,000 miles with it in there. You will hear it click making a sharp turn out of a parking space or the like but no issues. The only time I get it to act up is when I make one of those 90 deg. turns like at a light and punch it. It will catch and bark until it unlocks again. But I know it is going to do it when I hit the gas that hard. If I stay on the gas hard it will stay locked just like a hot rod with a posi rear. But you know it is going to do it when you act that way.
  21. White spokes FTW!! lol. Some of our posters have probably never seen a good set in person...fetching my walker...
  22. Depends on the brand I guess. The ones I found locally were c-channel and look plenty stout enough. The cheapie $30 ones can be wimpy but there are plenty out there at the $50-$60 range that are well made. http://www.summitracing.com/search/part-type/leaf-spring-shackles-and-hangers
  23. Thanks. It has its good & bad points but I am happy with it and I did not have to put a lot of money into it.
  24. Your rear springs may not be that bad. Mine also sat for years after being wrecked and had sunk into the ground. I paid $400 for it, pulled it out, made sure it was reasonably road worthy, and started driving it. Despite having 225,000 miles on it before the SOA the leafs on mine at least are still fine. I think I only got a bit over 5" on my rear SOA because of the high mileage 2wd rear springs. If you want to change them out for piece of mind then by all means change them out. But if you do decide to off road it remember that high arch lift springs tend to ride rougher and flex less than a flatter stockish spring on average. Your mileage may vary
  25. Bought my last one for $50 shipped from a guy who makes them and sells them on Pirate. Not sure what Stak wants for them.
