  1. That car is worth way more than scrap.
  2. In the fall 50/50 diesel fuel and motor oil in a bug sprayer. Spray inside doors, inner fender wells, inside tailgate inside rockers and everywhere you can think water can get on the under side. Let it sit and drip for a few hours. Then a day or two later wash the out side of the truck. The truck will not smell like diesel. We do it to my dads 07 dodge 2500 4x4 no rust and yes I am in Michigan. Or you could do fluid film and do the same thing. But you are going to have to do it every fall
  3. Kind of looks like a Christmas tree clip
  4. On my tj that I wheel I run savvy adjustable control arms with JKS 3in springs and rancho rs5000x shocks ( for now plan on going fox).
  5. This will be my 7th time. Little pricey but worth it. Last mj that I remember was 3 years ago there. I will be in my TJ ( my mj is 2wd).

Question what years should I look for to find the rubber intake boot. That looks like a way better way to go on my 86 than trying to replace that soft flexible hose on mine

    Rust

Wow!! I would have never thought it would have done it that fast. Glad I live close to Lake Michigan shark and salt free!

    Rust

I agree that putting a vehicle away for the winter is best. If you can’t from what I have seen running threw a car wash once a week works very well as long as it’s not in the teens or lower. But a family friend sprays the under side and inside the rockers and inside the bed sides with diesel fuel and oil and his truck is spotless.

    Rust

I thought I would show some pictures I took at work. It’s a 2010 Jeep Patriot. This is the rear sub frame. Just wondering what others do for rust prevention. I have used a 50/50 mix of diesel fuel and engine oil and I have also used fluid film both seam to work very well, threw the Michigan winter
  13. The best way is to heat the bolt pull the heat away let cool a couple seconds then reapply the heat and work it back and fourth and reheat if needed. That’s what I do at work every day hear in Michigan with all the rusty cars I work on.

1JTHA6613GT188474 1986 Comanche 2.5L 3spd auto 2wd I just picked this up last week. The closest one I could find to the one I had 18ys ago. It needs floor pans but the rest is super clean.
