  1. Thanks for the reply. I actually found the MJ springs on General Springs that I’ll probably end up going with. I had my doubts about FJ springs working too. Mine are currently about 4” less than stock too. Almost a straight line eye to eye. Any weight at all has it riding on the stops.
  2. I’m trying to replace some sad saggy leaf springs on my ‘90 eliminator. I put Bilstein 5100’s and 2” spacers with the stock coils which raised the pickup nicely but the leaf springs are so worn out that any load whatsoever squats the bed like a south Carolina squatting dog. Found these OME leafs on 4 wheel parts that say they are compatible. Any one have experience with these? How much will I gain in height over stock? Ride quality/load capacity? Any info anyone has would be appreciated. https://www.4wheelparts.com/p/arb-old-man-emu-leaf-spring-cs005rb/_/R-BHWQ-CS005RB
  3. Everybody staying healthy out there? The so called “surge” has been pushed out several more weeks here. People are starting to get a little fed up with the lockdown. Other than that all’s well out NM way. How are the rest of our beloved states faring?
  4. Having been deemed “essential” I’m still working but have found times on the weekend to clear some trees for the future shop, and got my woodpile split and stacked
  5. That’s the craziest thing I’ve seen today.
  6. What do you consider reasonably priced?
  7. The local hospital here is now saying this will probably peak late April early May and then start to get better. Good news is, The production of certain sanitary supplies and PPE are starting to catch up again. Small victories.
  8. Because we do live in a republic with checks and balances I think there are things we can do. What I am saying is that we need to check our government. We need to use all legal resources available to do so. Particularly if this thing drags on for months as they’re saying.
  9. That would be great. Maybe we’ll find out everyone is actually more productive working from home Certainly there will be good that comes out of this as well as the bad.
  10. Might I suggest Darby Gill and the little people?
  11. Not when people are not allowed to work, run businesses, or have a meeting of 10 people or more (such as a brainstorming session, conference etc.) but I digress. As far as positives, I’m encouraged by the willingness overall to deal with this thing. Hospitals here are gearing up and coming out with rather ingenious ways to prevent infection spreading. A lot of landlords are postponing rent etc. People are banding together despite the “social distancing” and widespread fear. There are still good people in the world.
  12. The abandonment of reason is certainly unfortunate and no doubt one of the major contributors to this problem. I hope this is a major wake up call: Also, as MJeff says, personal responsibility is another thing we need to resurrect. At some point we need to realize that if there is an answer to this thing, it lies in the hands of citizens and not the government. Independent research, and the free market will be where solutions lie. Not an political party or government agency. Of course the only works if we can get people to see that, engage their brains, and take responsibility. I’m interested in ideas on how to do that. It seems to me that the answer is to get people to realize there are things we CAN DO and ways we can help. Obviously following the CDC recommendations is a start, and someone mentioned earlier people making masks and ventilator adaptors to address those kinds of concerns. We should recognize the potential of the American people for good and not only for our aptitude at stupidity.
  13. The elitist is anyone who thinks that they or the government must protect people from themselves. Like Pete said, knowledge is key. You have to inform people of the risk, educate, and publicize facts. Should people limit their exposure? Absolutely. I have no problem with the recommendations. I have a problem with recommendations becoming regulations. Persuasion and reason are the tools we should be utilizing to assure compliance. (And as many have pointed out, it should have started months ago but our wonderful media is too busy bashing or defending every political move made) I don’t blame people for panicking really. We went from “Don’t worry about it, it’s a bad flu and it’s far away.” To, “Governor so-and-so has ordered all persons to self quarantine in their homes until further notice.” That’s ridiculous. Now we justify it all by assuring ourselves it’s all necessary because after all, people are stupid and can’t be trusted. Any person with a fully functioning brain can make reasonable choices if informed. I think we need to hold our government, and media accountable for the lack of information leading up to this. As well as the panicked response. Lastly, let’s take this as a lesson in the absolute necessity of reason, logic, and factual information in decision making, rather than feelings as has been the theme lately.
  14. Your post on knowledge being the best and most necessary element in this situation is spot on.
  15. I’m not saying we start burning down buildings. I’m saying we need to start a discussion about exactly what we will tolerate, and how we make sure this deal gets reined back in once this virus is dealt with. I am mostly curious about y’all’s thoughts. Also find it necessary to remember that we can actually take care of each other and not everyone is a sheeple as Jeep driver alludes.
  16. Here’s a couple quotes as food for thought. “The wise man does not expose himself needlessly to danger, since there are few things for which he cares sufficiently; but he is willing, in great crises, to give even his life - knowing that under certain conditions it is not worthwhile to live. “ “If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen. “ Samuel Adams
  17. I understand that people panic, which is why having a news media that actually reports FACTS and not their political opinions. Information dissemination and American ingenuity is what we need. Not to be place under house arrest. I agree some precautions are necessary but there is now talk of Martial Law. Security may be nice, but freedom is better. They can make all the suggestions they want and I honestly believe most of us would be happy to comply. There would be a few who don’t but that is the risk you run with a free society. It bothers me that we have all bought into an elitist attitude that some people are to stupid to trust and therefore we need a government to tell us what we can and cannot do. That’s not an American idea. That is a communist idea. Fear is being used to control WE THE PEOPLE. I think to many of us have forgotten that in America WE are in charge, not politicians. We can take care of ourselves if not forced into isolation. We should be throwing the full weight of the American industrial machine, medical know how, and plain old elbow grease to find solutions, not hole up like a bunch of scared animals. My wife is a nurse and actually is caring for patients with this virus and it truly is scary and horrible. I am more concerned about the power grab happening now. That said, I think the best thing we can do is look out for each other. Find ways to help, volunteer, donate etc. We are a generous and generally willing to help nation. Let’s not get wrapped around the axle over this and lose our heads. We need each other and can’t afford to sit back on our self absorbed butts calling everyone stupid and moronic. My encouragement is protect yourself. But take care of others first. That’s what makes us different. That’s what makes us American .
  18. Anybody else getting a little uncomfortable with the governmental over reach in this deal?
  19. Must be nice only celebrating every four years!
  20. Anyone have experience with Dayton springs? Rock auto has 1700lb 3/2 (metric ton) springs listed. Apparently Dayton owns Stanley springs and Eagle. the list price is $309.79. I can’t find whether that is for a pair or individually. I assume individual spring. I’ll try to verify. I’m already aware of General Spring, and Hell Creek. Just curious about these.
  21. All you easterners need to come out west for a get together and bring us some Yuengling.
  22. I’m a fan of the Belgian beers. Leffe Brun is one of the best I’ve found. Pretentious beer as my cousin calls it haha. As long as its cold, not made in Mexico or in blue can with Bud on the side, it’s good.
  23. I thought “creeperjeeper” was a little too pedophile sounding, Thought of news anchor Stephen Stephanopolous, thought it would work as Manche’nopolous.
  24. Nothing wrong with that!
  25. Well some one better buy it before he turns it into a tow behind Hot Tub....
