Anyone have a step by step to burp a renix system? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I think that may be the case. I poured in water from the upper radiator tube before I reattached it. I didn’t know how to really fill it. How would I burp it, then? I’m not familiar with a coolant system like this at all. Also, when I did the pump I remember looking at both before I installed the new one. It is the right direction, unless the PO/junkyard that I got it from installed a 4.2 pump. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Also, mine hasn’t overheated... YET. But I don’t think steam and some coolant coming out of the reservoir is necessarily a good thing.

I got the Murray one from O’rileys. $35. The box art doesn’t look the same as the pump either, so I don’t know. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Did it. Fan did turn on, so I know the connection is working. My guess is a bad radiator sensor? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I’ve got 3 fire extinguishers around, hopefully I’ll be fine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What makes it work though? Is there a sensor somewhere that isn’t kicking on or a relay that’s not sending power? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My Comanche is getting real warm, and I don’t really know why. I replaced the water pump a few weeks ago, but now it spits steam out of the coolant tank and the electric fan doesn’t turn on, though I don’t know if that’s ever turned on to begin with. Firstly, is there a potential reason why it should spit steam and coolant out of the cap? Also, is there a relay or a fuse to check for the fan? I know it works, pulled it out and hooked up a 12 volt battery. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

10-Hole Wheel Restoration
Dammerung replied to TheBearken's topic in MJ Tech: DIY Projects and Write-Ups
I used mother’s mag and aluminum polish. My clear looked like garbage, but the aluminum underneath was mostly good, just some curb rash and deep scratches. Hardest part is getting the clear coat off. I used Jasco paint stripper and goof off graffiti remover, but I had to hit it about 5-8 times. The stripper also forced me to repaint the interior triangles for the wheels. I wouldn’t have even thought about doing this if my Dad hadn’t told me about it when he had his S10 rims done 20 years ago. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
10-Hole Wheel Restoration
Dammerung replied to TheBearken's topic in MJ Tech: DIY Projects and Write-Ups
I actually wouldn’t recoat with clear. I’m currently restoring my aluminum wheels, and I think that just keeping them straight aluminum will be easier to clean and re-polish if they get gunked up. Before After All done with Scotch-Brite, a drill with a polishing wheel, and time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Foglights without the harness

Well, I modified them because I thought the grill looked both tacky and garbage. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Foglights without the harness
Dammerung replied to Dammerung's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Anyone know what brand these foglights are? Because I don’t think they’re stock. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I stripped the foglights off of a Jeep Cherokee, but the harness it had was shot, and I didn’t even bother to bring it home. Is there any way I can hook up fog lights w/o it? I have the interior switch too, if that helps. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

If you’re talking about that unit, that’s the starter relay. You can get those at o’rileys for not that much. Replaced mine because I thought it was screwing around with my fuel pump. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Turn Signal Stem Lever bad?
Dammerung replied to coolwind57's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Had almost the same exact issue when I got my 88. There should be 2 flasher units on the fuze block, one in the top right and bottom left if I remember correctly. Top right controls 4 ways and the other controls your regular blinkers. The 4 way and regular flasher relays are interchangeable so you should be able to switch out the blinker for the 4 way and see if that fixes your issue. When I pulled my flasher, the terminals were corroded to hell and back, so be careful. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I was doing this because I didn’t want to invest in an expensive gauge cluster, but yesterday I managed to pull a full cluster from a Cherokee. So all I need to do is replace the oil and temp sending units with Cherokee/Mopar ones and it all works? Even the tach? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Nice! You got a nice truck setup too. Factory fogs and a factory cargo light. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Oh I’ve seen that one! I saw it when I was looking for the one I got now. Does it still have that transmission issue? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So I should just disconnect my idiot light sensor and put in an aftermarket gauge? Also, mine’s an 88 Renix, so there’s that it it changes anything. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
