Hahahaha yes I think it would take a long steep downhill and a tailwind and it probably still wouldn’t happen:))) -

Front Exhaust for an ‘86 2.5
Vineyard86manch replied to Vineyard86manch's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
@eaglescout526 I need the exhaust pipe from the manifold to the cat. -
I need to replace the front exhaust on my ‘86 2.5 and I looked at a couple options on Quadratec. They have one that they say is for a 4.0 for the years 86-90 (obviously they didn’t make a 4.0 in ‘86) and one for the 2.5 in the years 87-92. Upon asking them they told me they don’t have the part and that I’d have to modify one. Its my understanding that the ‘86s have a number of differences throughout the truck compared to later years. Have any of you guys found an actual replacement part or will I have to modify one? Thanks

@JMO413 thanks so much!

Hey there folks, electrical novice here. All gauges except for my speedometer stop working when I turn on my lights. This has been happening for some time now. Recently all my gauges start fluttering when I engage my directionals. It’s my understanding there is a ground somewhere near the e-brake pedal assembly? May very well be a larger problem than just a ground, but any help would be appreciated!

They’re all great but I’m partial to the 10 slot. If I see a 10 slot coming down the road I check it out because if it isn’t an MJ it’s a mid 80s xj which are fewer and far between up here in New England.

1986 Jeep Cherokee!
Vineyard86manch replied to Vineyard86manch's topic in Craigslist/eBay... i.e. Not Your Stuff
Haha understood:) And honestly if that guy wants to put a 9k price tag on his 86 v6 that’s his thing, but if you’re gonna ask someone for 9k you should probably provide a lot more info than what he wrote. “missing a few small parts , probably before you buy it i will get it“ ! -
I’ll just leave this here... https://www.ebay.com/itm/1986-Jeep-Cherokee/153905530585?hash=item23d57c06d9:g:D4UAAOSwlD5en7ay

Arrrgggh looking for a pair in garnet... -
Took her for a spin today for the first time in two months. Been away for work and I’ve had friends take her for a spin here and there. Popped in Led Zeppelin III in the tape deck and went for an hour drive and she sounded and drove great. I love this little truck.
-
When I bought the truck a couple years ago I loved the decals but they were pretty faded and the truck had surface rust in a number of areas so I decided to bite the bullet and have it painted. I had the body painted medium blue metallic (a factory color from ‘86) before I decided to re-create the decals. Red and orange probably wouldn’t have looked bad but I got the idea to do the shades of blue and white and Spencer did a great job bringing it to life.
-
I was thrilled with the final product. Below is a pic of the original paint and decals. I’ve looked high and low and my mj is the only one i’ve seen with “Jeep” decal near the taillights. I’m guessing it was left off of most by workers ready to push the trucks off the assembly line:))) Can’t wait to see how they come out, tell Spencer that Jared says hi!

I reached out to Spencer about making these and he had never done these particular decals before. I thought they came out great and as you know he’s super easy to work with and his work is quality. I did have a friend put together a computer graphic and sent him the file. But I’m assuming he still has them and can work from that. As you can see in the pictures these decals aren’t factory colors. Here’s a couple pics:

This is awesome! I had Spencer at jeepsticker.com re-create mine last year he did a great job. Be sure to post pics of your mj when it’s done!
