Ugly speedometer cable!
Wounded_Fighter replied to a bum with money's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I'm running the same issue, I got the same cable from autozone, listed as ca-3068. Problem I'm having is the clip of the cable doesn't seem to connect to the speedometer. Is this the same speedometer back you have? Have you made yours fit? How? -

Anyway to know without ripping the entire thing apart? I'd like to get parts before removal if i have to. it's my only ride at the moment. -
So in the morning when I start my daily drive to work with my comanche I've started noticing a Tapping noise... I may have just started noticing it since I ripped the carpeting out, no more sound barrier lol. The noise sounds like a valve tapping, tic tic tic, consistant with speed of the vehicle.. BUT it goes away with the clutch pressed in... also after i make my 3rd turn, approx 3.5 miles, it goes away entirely... like it was never happening in the first place. happens every morning for the last 3 at least. not sure if its been longer or not wtf could be ticking in my trans?

Pizza Oven interior temps

Central Florida. No A/C. Haven't had time to try to play with a/c components. No vent windows (yet) No rear slider No sunroof (yet) No floormats or and heat shielding anywhere. Has headliner I do use the a/c vent sometimes the hot air blowing is better then the hot stagnant air... but Friday it stopped working on me again... bugger... Heat level in this thing... some people would just say undriveable. Me.. I'm too stupid and/or proud to own this thing. Daily driving in this stupid heat. Still am! LOVING IT! -
Hooligan OffRoad Hinge Support Install
Wounded_Fighter replied to agamble's topic in MJ Tech: DIY Projects and Write-Ups
I noticed I have the same gap on my hinges as pictured below. Did this help with the inside gap at all? Does the hinges need to be realigned before install? Did you weld the inside seam too? My door seems to be propped out a little bit when closed, like there is a gap around the seam of the door/body. -

For sure. Jump on it before she dumps you in a parking lot like mine did in front of city hall 😆 -

It was the starter. It was bound up. Not extending. Replaced and she lives again! -

Not a clue what that fuseable link would look like. -
Key in, turn, click from engine bay, nothing. Click nothing. Then acts like battery is dead. CPS? Starter? Fuse?!?! Couldnt find a bad fuse though.

Vent window...?
Wounded_Fighter replied to Wounded_Fighter's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Yeah... I posted it and went to sleep, lol. I Think I did it as a note to myself since I was on the site. I searched it this morning and saw all the results. haha Pretty much the same reactions it seems. -
Has anyone ever tried to swap out the small triangle window for a vent window? I'm thinking about trying to accomplish it if I can...

All good, Thanks for looking. Don't forget lunch!

Guessing it went poof?

Yeah odd part. Burgandy belt plastic... goes along the cab wall, this is driver side, pretty sure it doesn't make a difference though.

I just assumed the noise was normal! Kind of lets me know to upshift. -

Maybe.. doesn't look like the wires or plugs have been messed with in quite a few years. I've only had her for about a month now. Hah! This. Thus far I did the refresh on the CPS connector, had to search fire it... no problems yet. Gonna do dist index before I go any further on the problem I suppose. If it comes back I'll look at CPS a little closer Avoid the #partscannon

So leaving work today I went and started my MJ and she was acting like she was missing a beat with 2 of the cylinders, seemed worse when I was on the gas. I poked around under the hood to make sure injectors electrical were tight and all the spark plug wires were tightly secured as well. It didn't change anything. So I turned her off and waited 5 seconds then turned it over again. Ran normal. Thoughts?

Higher rpm and trans gear that you're in. Lower gear/rpm is usually lower mpg. Same was true on my ram 3500 5.9 tdi

Am I correct in assuming that I have to unbolt the fuel rail from the intake to replace the injectors? If so what's the toque on them? Can someone point me to a FSM seem to have forgotten to move the file from my old phone which is now gone...
