  1. it says it has a 76 gallon gas tank. HOLY S*#@!!
  2. I like it, yet don't like it. I really want to make a 2 door Comanche that uses the long doors off a 2 door Cherokee. I am fairly tall, and on long drives it becomes a bit cramped and having those doors would be great for me.
  3. How dificult is it to replace all 4 ball joints on a 4 wheel drive Manche assuming you have all the right tools? What exactly needs to come off so I can remove the ball joints? -John
  4. 3.4l all the way. If your mildly mechanically inclined you can do the swap in pretty much a weekend. I did it in 4 days working from like 9-4 each day, with an hour lunch break. The best thing to do is definitely get rid of the crap Varajet.
  5. The best is that you did it in black, so when the Comanche decides to leek it's blood either now or someday, you will never know. ;)
  6. I was looking at getting those for the daily too, but I never got around to it.
  7. YES, my first Comanche was yellow, and somone had sprayed white on top of it, and the white just peeled off exposing the yellow.
  8. yep I just saw that too
  9. nice, but man 15k for some reason I don't think it will sell.
  10. Yea I have bought my suppy from the online site, stuff works great
  11. yes spot welds are your friends
  12. that tranny sure looks like an AX 4/5 to me, but that is just a guess or just another angle http://www.indyhpmedia.com/pics/Comanch ... ission.jpg
  13. That's not always true though, I have the long wheel base with a crappy stock 13 gal, and man it blows.
  14. That just means they live on in someone else's yard or shop. :D 8) EXACTLY!!
  15. I have built stuff like that before, but I never took pictures, and threw most them away after I started running out of garage and side yard space.
  16. Actually I beleive that the 6.6l turbo diesel was the stock engine in the original Hummer "H1". At least I haven't seen any originals with anything different. I Really like H1's mainly looks and brute power, but H2's need to stay on the road for the soccer mom's to drive. But of course the Comanche is clearly the best :brows:
  17. That's Pretty
  18. I like that one ^^ looks good, You all just wish you had this comanche t-shirt ;) I bought that bad boy on Ebay for like $10
  19. You just made a baby cry somewhere in the world   Just kidding, I wish the body on my Comanche was that clean.
  20. Your funny Pete, but yea I need to figure out what sticker I want and maybe some magnets
  21. I have been in Chicago for like 2 weeks living there and have seen like 3-4 different Comanches. anybody on here live in Chicago, or drive there Comanche through town?
  22. Man that looks awesome and so clean. Just looking at it you would think it just came off the factory line. ;) I'm Envious
  23. It really reminds you of the COMANCHE. Just the cab and whole front section are very similar. Very Cool 8)
  24. the swap is easy :brows: it took me about 3 days, and the donor wehicle to look for is a 93-95 camaro with either the manual or automatic transmission (depends on your application), if it's a stick you'll need to get a neutrally balanced flywheel for like an 87 s10. O'Reilly Auto has em for like $60 new. The engine is bolt for bolt the same, the key is whether you go carbed or fuel injection. Fuel injection is a lot more work (obviously). When swapping over, you have to take the timing cover and waterpump and accesory brackets from the 2.8l and put them on the 3.4l, so buy a good felpro or who ever you like gasket kit. If your state doesn't care, you can just cut the emmsions crap and have a much stronger running engine. If you go carbs get a good carb, because the factory varijet suck. A good webber 38, or the edelbrock intake and a good 4 barrel. Really the swap is pretty easy, just prepare
  25. heat is your friend trust me I had the same problem and I just used a mini breaker bar from craftman with the shortest socket that was the right size and put it on and got it in position, and went at it with the torch for about 20-30 seconds, then gave the handle some hits and that broke them loose and it was easy after that. Heat is a wonderfull thing. ;)
