Where is my other oil filter for amsoil?
87Chief replied to 87Chief's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Yes, I don't know where it would have been mounted.. Grandpa said on top of the engine, but my uncle never took it off so I guess the people that did the AC took it off and never put it back on... -
Anyone have an aluminum valve cover??

Where is my other oil filter for amsoil?
87Chief replied to 87Chief's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
My grandpa said the other filter was right on top of the engine on the right, there is no filter... I guess someone took it off.. The other problem I was having was smoke coming from engine after about 5 mins of running, found out it was a huge hole in the exhaust manifold, my friend said I should get a new header...? -

My truck had amsoil put on it and people said there are 2 oil filters, I can only find the one that looks like every other oil filter... Am I missing something or is it somewhere else? Thanks in advance M -
On your TJ, did you trim your fender flares? Have you heard/seen where people cut their stock fenders to make like a tube fender? Sorry to go off topic, lol. I might try that soda blasting... lol

whats the difference and or which is better

Ask the seller if you can get what the tag tag says on the Differential of the 8.8... If it says like 3L73, it's a limited slip, I don't know your gear ratio, just if it has a "L" it usually means limited slip... Correct me if I'm wrong fellow Jeepers.. -
It's alright. Do any of you guys know if either of these will work? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jeep-Wra ... ccessories http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jeep-2-5 ... ccessories http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jeep-Wra ... ccessories Thanks the first is a 1991-1995 cherokee aluminum.. Second title just says a 98 2.5L Third says it's a 1997-2002 2.5L valve cover (aluminum) I'm not sure if the wrangler's will fit on MJ's

Smoke after running for about 20 minutes

Yeah I figured I would have to do an engine swap sooner or later but it only has 131k... Lol I'll probably put another 2.5L just because, no dealing with wires and it's just a DD to school and stuff. About the oil pressure. What could cause that? -

Yeah at about 45-50 my oil pressure is about 70... And I check the oil level every once in awhile and it says Full.. And there is quite a few oil spots on the driveway -

There is oil sitting next to the valve cover and exhaust manifold when I turn off the engine and pop the hood. There are cracks in the valve cover... But I just don't see that this much is coming out. -

Hello, when I drove to work, about 20 mins, I start seeing a lot of smoke coming from under the hood and I smeel which seems like exhaust maybe oil or something. I don't know but I do have a cracked valve cover... I might be replacing that soon, if I can find an aluminum one. Can anyone help? I will have pics soon.. -
I towed mine from AL to SC (10 hours) going 60 mph the whole way, We put it on, locked the wheel (tied a rope to the brake so it would be tight) Then I put the transmission in nuetral and Transfercase in nuetral, towed like a dream.

Hello all, When I was driving the MJ the other day and I was just cruising listening to tunes (it was about 9 at night) I turned a cornor and about maybe a minute later, all my lights shut off. I panicked and pushed the switch in and pulled it back out and they turned on again. They stayed on for the rest of the 5 minutes I had to drive... They turned off about 20 minutes from starting to drive (if that makes since). I got to my destination I got out sat around for a little bit and on the way home, about 20 minutes into my drive, all the lights went out again... What is the problem?? Thanks

So I am assuming a 1998 Cherokee 2.5L would bolt right up?
