  1. Look under there for some worn out bushings.. But I agree on the control arm angles.
  2. Go to autozone and go to the towing section and get the drop shackles for a chevy for $40.. I put those on and they look nice and add about two inches.. Waiting on my coil spacers now
  3. From the 2.5L it would be about 20 mpg... I have the same set up as you with 4.11 gears.. I get about 18-20 now with 235/75/15's I'm putting 2" coil spacers up front and chevy drop shackles in the back then putting 31's up under it. I expect less mpg than before
  4. Haha yeah. I'm not so sure what that problem with the 4x4 would be though but I could look under and see what axles and gears and see if it overheats. Maybe testdrive if they'll let me.
  5. Could be that they didn't put a motor mount lift or the linkage from handle to tcase is lose. If you find out where exactly that Cherokee is I can go look at it. I'm in fort mill sc.
  6. I got the chevy drop shackles from autozone just need to find a place for the coil spacers. Any takers?
  7. Thunderbear do you have any pics of your truck? Is it stock?
  8. Ok I got the tires. They look brand new. I have a few questions.. If I have a 2.5L with 4.11 gears, is it going to be able to push the 31's pretty good? And i was thinking about adding a pretty cheap lift (1"-2") I know the chevy drop shackles will add about 1.5" but I'm looking for an even 2" lift.. I already have the WJ lower control arms for the rubbing and I'm not planning on trimming the fenders at all. Just want to know what's out there for a lift around $100.. I know some companies have all these pucks and shackles for $300 when i go to a junkyard and get them for $50.. Thanks
  9. Hey guys. Getting started on my gas tank sending unit and I'm removing the skid plate while I can't get one cornor of the skid out. The corner facing diagonally to the passenger seat. It hooks on and is weird. It hits the e brake cable and when I try to push it it won't go far enough because it hits the driveshaft.. Do I need to remove the driveshaft?
  10. Yeah I put rtv on the top and a little on the corners on the bottom. Sealed good. Just start in the middle and work out.
  11. My torque spec when I did mine was 'Good and tight' no leaks yet
  12. Ok, It will just be used for my daily driver so I'm not goingto go offroading in it just yet. Would the chevydrop shackles be a good thing to do though just in case, or should I wait until I get them on before I do anything.
  13. I just went to autozone and got some heater core hose... and hose clamps. Then the small front ones were just regular size vacuum hoses, I would go a little bigger than mine because mine are very small and hard to get on the fitting.
  14. Yeah I'm getting the 15's, not 16's. I looked on craigslist last night and saw someone selling 4 tires with 300 miles on them for $200, so I emailed him, and we are meeting tomorrow afternoon. I think they are General Ameritrac. I do have 1 WJ lower control, i thought 2 came with the order from rockauto, but I guess not
  15. viewtopic.php?f=7&t=24446&start=30 Hope that helps, it's on page 3.
  16. Which wheels do you have? I have the stock 5 spoke jeep wheels
  17. Ok even on sharp turns?
  18. I am thinking about getting some new/used tires and thinking about getting 265/75/15 and I'm pretty sure they are ~30"-31". My question is do I need to do anything? I know probably lower control arms from wj. I have the 2.5l and I will probably lose some power right? But will I need to do the 2" drop shackle and zj v8 coil spring lift? Thanks just want to know so I can save money.
  19. I got my 2.5l valve cover from a 91YJ wrangler. It's aluminum and doesn't leak. Just had to re route some hoses and fittings for the ccv and vacuum but very cheap
  20. I Someone putting on a oil pan gasket and they used twine (hemp kinda stuff) and put it through the gasket and bolt holes and once they got it in place and a couple bolts in they cut it and just pulled it out.. Might help
  21. Really? I never knew that. How would you?
  22. oops sorry. Sorry, I'm looking for one from a 2.5L so the rpm guage will be correct. Usually they read different if swapped from a dif size engine.
  23. Did you happen to fill your fluid up on a slope? SOmetimes if you don't fill it on level ground it will either be too much fluid or too little.. Try bleeding your clutch too
  24. Could you post a DIY on this? I would like to an aftermarket tach.
  25. So I got my new speakers in and I got the siding off and everything. The old speakers have a plug on the back but my new speakers didn't come with one... Should I just cut and splice? Also on the back of the truck (interior) I have a carpet part and it came off pretty rough, it has little black metal pin-like things, do they just snap back on? One more thing, which is positive and which is ground coming from the MJ? brown positive? Thanks.
