195/75R15: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/TireSearc ... 5&x=38&y=5 205/75R15: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/TireSearc ... &x=30&y=10 These tires simply will not do. . . 235/75R15: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/TireSearc ... 5&x=20&y=0 G78-15: http://www.universaltire.com/truck-and- ... axion.html Now these tires will work nicely. . . Can the speedo be recalibrated to these tires ? or would i have to Regear it ? Mike

I was hopping to run a 235/75R15 or G78-15 so i could run an aggressive treaded tire, P195/75R15's ? or P205/75R15 's ? :fs1: WI's winter's ya know :wall: . . . Mike

My speedo reads 65mph@3,000rpm, tho i have no idea what tires or gears it's calibrated for. 1988 Comanche 2.5L 4spd manual D35 axle ? tire rack list's the tire size as P225/75R15 2WD / LT235/75R15 4WD. one of the Vintage tire sites list's a G78-15 2WD / F78-15 4WD. Its got ST225/70R15C tires on the rear P215/70R15 on front so i'm guessing it's set up for 28"-30" tall tires ? What gears did they put in them ? how do i find out whats are in there ? Whats the GVWR of these ? none of the data plates say anything, I did tag it today with a "B" plate 6,000LB's, that should be close enough. Mike

Turning a parked beater into a decent daily driver . . .
AMC-MJ replied to AMC-MJ's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Every time i replace a floor pan and paint it up on both side let it cure really good the wipe it down with some alky then and cover it the coating, it's more less to keep the water n moisture off the painted steal . . . IE winter snow slush salt, Summer Mud rain water ect on your shoes boots ect, now won't leak past that layer there for extended the life of the flooring 40-60%. tho yes it dose keep some road noise out meaning i have to buy LOUDER tires ! The plan is fix it up, then paint it n polish it up till it shines like when she was new, and enjoy it . . . Mike -

New starter test fire: Mike -
I've had it a while, i just started driving it this week, Maybe that caused the confusion :dunno: Sorry about that . . . I been driving it for 3 day's now i just did a new starter as the old one was crawling n dragging so i replaced before i ended up stranded I ran all new 2GA cable's, and a new 800CCA@0*F battery  spins over like a hot summer day at 15*F . . . i'll toss up some photos here shortly. check it out: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=20503&p=209784#p209784 Mike

Sound's cool, i been trying to break my anti-social steak for  I go to work come home get paid pay bills buy food get some gas n :fs1: about being stuck home n broke with so many irons in da fire . . . The MJ was a project truck that has now been put into service as a driver, originally it was to be patched up painted frame beefed up and Repowered with a AMC290 V-8 4bbl / T-5 5spd-OD . . . AMC290 V-8: 290 2bbl 200hp n 260tq. 290 4bbl 225hp n 300tq. GM 350 TBI 210hp n 300tq, So the 290 is a beast comparably . . . But if it's going to be a driver i'm not so sure i want a V-8 in it, not after i got to drive it that little 2.5-I4 rip's rather well. Mike

Right now i have, P215/70R15's on front and ST225/70R15's on the rear, they ain't nothing special just some general purpose tires fronts are passenger tire the rear are trailer tires :fs1: . . . I hate them i'm either going to a LT235/75R15C MT's or LT7.00-15D Super Traction's . . . I only like tires that make noise, on my truck's "if they ain't howling i'm getting stuck" is how i buy tires ! Radial MT's n MTR's . . . Biasply Super Traction's n Extra Grip's, I love TSL's those they go both way's Biasply n radial . . . Mike
-
 So it has showed me ! AMC-Jeeps  Mike
-
Ok, well the brake job is finally complete system is adjusted up and blead out ! I just got back from a little 12mile test drive, this is the first time i have driven my MJ . . . it seems to be a fine little beast, tho its going to need some suspension work, it seems a bit soft n floaty ! But the little 2WD 4 popper gets around in 6-9" of snow just fine, tho it dose have a topper n 5 tires on wheels in the box so its got some weight. Happy holidays . . . :waving: Mike

Yep me my group ride in black river 3 times a year. Then a few best runs out at the farm... 1 Honda, 2 polarises 1 Arctic Cat. The 07' Rubi n 09' Mudpro are the trouble free units the SP600 breaks down about every trip, the SP500 only breaks once a year... Tho the MP700 always seems to get stuck... I got tons of you tube vids, 8-12 of the Cat stuck 2 or 3 of the cat getting out performed by the rubi. User/Member: hurstssamx Mike
