No not really smashed fender and a cracked window. Just didn't want to have deal with those repairs while getting the rest taken care of and prepped for paint, i was simply going to replace the flares or the part's that go over the tires but now the whole fender has to be replaced is a large chunk of iron. . . Fender: the inner fender well will also have to be replace as another huge chunk of truck. So then after i have those 2 parts installed and repaired then i can get back to the other thing's that needed doing before the it is shot with paint. So Jeep J-5500 build is going to be delayed a little bit till this truck is caught back up to where it was and finished off. Mike

I'd be interested to see these... It'd be nice to find out that my old J10 went to a yard instead of the crusher. Cab 1 is green with a white front clip, truck 2 is all tan . Mike

Draft #2: There you are Red paint and rolling 245/70R19.5's with 6 spoke Alcoa wheels ! Mike
-
i'd put a D60 up front and put that D70 under the rear and you'll have 1 solid truck. Mike

Jeepfreak93:as for the build thread I don't know, I figured I was already pushing it with my "Hey look at this" thread of a no related truck. KDP ? Sorry still new at this 5.9er thing. Mike

19.5's and twin D80's with 4.56 Gear's will be plenty enough for me . . . 1. GSK-3K. 2. Fuel pin. 3. intake. 4. exhaust. 5. 190 Injector's. 6. 12cm turbo deal. should get me about 300hp n 650tq being spun through the 5spd manual and put to the ground vis 4.56 gears and 245/70R19.5G's . . . Mike

yes there is, and there far to rare for me to cutting one up to making it a diesel, the only way i was going to build this build is if i could do it with out cutting up a whole or complete truck. I found a salvage yard with 2 jeep cab's for me. . . Mike

You have heard about my Jeep J-truck build, where i will be combining a 89-93 REAM350 with a 62-88 J-truck , then beefing up the axles n springs to make it a 550/5500 series truck ? well if not you have now. Let me introduce you to the Cad rendering of the truck. Jeep J-5500: Next build after this one the MJ will become a dually as well. . . Mike

Well even the over achieving under dog AMC did figure on these truck still being around 20 years n 200,000 miles later . . . They designed MJ with a 10-15 year life span of 100-150K miles, once again AMC's over engineering got a truck with a life span of 30years n 300K miles. The Full size J-truck's 30, 40, 50 years later 300K, 400K, 500k miles later still rolling around . . . So it's not really there first time doing this either. There is an older gentle man in the Dell's who has a 1969 AMX 390 4spd with 280,000 miles on it all original he washes it n waxes it keeps it polished up doesn't drive it in the winter but from May-October is on the road 5-7 days a week, He also has the Manual for it and has been maintaining it by the book, his goal was to put 300K on it and then rebuild the whole car and do it again. Now look at the MJ's around ? now look at the 1982-92 Rangers, S-10's, and Dakota's for the same time frame twice as many built half as many left ! heck even most of the 82'-92' Ricer import truck's have vanished . . . just food for thought to the durability of an AMC product, which i think is why it's a shame most of the Good MJ's are going to end up gutted for parts for a quick kill on ebay then poof supplies are up demand drop's parts go worthless nothing left to fix but the junk ones . . . At least this is how i see it going anyhow. . . Mike

 Good true and accurate info right here guy's   CW Mike

they are only illegal for steer axles of commercial Rigs on road where the posted speed is in excess of 45mph. no highway's in town only 45mph n slower is lawful 45mph and faster is against the law . . . yes that's how it read's 45mph is the grey are so are legal some aren't . . . Rural route v.s. county highway . . . Mike

whip length has to dp many with wave length, 1/8th wave 1/4 wave 1/2 wave full wave ect . . . I don't recall what a wave length is . . . It's not uncommon to bale to transmit n receive several miles 5 10 15 25 . . .rarely do people get over 25 miles but it can be done. Some guy's running a full wave whip 100ft in the air hooked to a base station running some crazy high wattage and super low SWR that have gotten Side band transmit receive for 100 miles . . . Now my 148 IIRC put out 5 watts 1-40 and upper n lower side band 1-40 had 20watts. . . Mike

$345 :fs1: the more people that do this, the higher the prices will get and next thing you know every tail light set is going to be $350. . . Mike
-
Just like AmJay said pretty much . . . its one of them things you can do it or you can't . . . i have tried teaching people how i have only had about a 20% success rate and a 80% failure rate. . . Mike

The junk yards and salvage yards around WI are all slowly getting shut down by DNR. So i would imagine that shortly here, every state will be following suit. DNR-"All vehicles deemed junk IE: unable to travel the public highway, must be kept indoors on pavement or recycled" so you got 3 vehicles in your drive and 1 of them has a flat tire or expired tag's it will be classified as junk you can be sited up to $100/day or they will remove it at your expense . . . So i wouldn't be counting on pick n pulls to be around all that much longer. Mike

That's what happens man yea that's what happens when your dealing in good parts for an obsolete vehicle . . . you should see 68'-70' AMX part's $800-$1,200 for hoods n truck lids. . .$2,500 for 1/4 panels fender's as high $750. Mike

If you had stereo speakers in the doors it would be the coolest thing to mount two stereo talk back speakers in the OE locations behind the grills in the dash!!!! I have done this, I had an S-10 which had door speaker's so i used the dash speaker port's got some nice pioneer 2way speakers and an 80watt amp. I plugged the the end for the external speaker ran the wires into the high range in puts and with a little tuning of the gain and setting's i got perfectly Chrystal clear incoming CB transmission's. Worked out awsome for CB tag. . . Mike
