  1. I had two 12's in my last car (probably will never buy subs that big again) and I don't want to put them in my Wrangler, but I'm not sure if I can get them to fit in the Comanche. I was just going to wait and do something down the road, but I since I have the whole interior gutted right now and I"ll be putting it back together in the next week or two, I thought I might try and make them work. Has anyone else fit a pair of 12s behind the seats? I just scored a set of 2 dr XJ seats, so I'll have easy access to them. Pictures would be awesome since I'll have to build my own boxes.
  2. They are Discount Tire's Cragar knock-off brand called Unique (I think). They're 15x8. I can't remember the back spacing though. They were cheap and I couldn't decide on an alloy wheel I liked, so they'll do in the mean time. The floor patching is done. I'll have pictures tomorrow. I scored some 2 door XJ buckets at the pull a part, so now I have an extra set of seats. Also got the upgraded door panels with the hockey stick handles. I already had a back panel with red carpet, but found a gray one, so that's one less thing I have to fix. I've got a couple other odds and ends so the interior should be coming back together pretty quickly. I need to order my locks and carpet, but everything else is waiting in the garage.
  3. Now, I like that idea. And as for trees tearing them off the top, the MJ won't see as much trail duty as my Wrangler, so I'm not that worried about it. I have a couple 100w Pro-comp lights on the windshield of my TJ and the glare off the hood has never really been a big issue for me.
  4. Really? How come? I've never heard bad things about them. Oh and I'm looking to put fog lights on the front bumper in addition to the flood lamps on the roll bar, not fog lamps and flood lamps on the roll bar. Sorry, if that was confusing.
  5. Our trucks are pretty similar! If I did decide to go on round lights, what would you suggest? Also, are your fogs factory?
  6. I've got a new to me Dakota roll bar that I'd like to add some lights to. It came with some 5x7 Bosch lights but they look huge. I'd like to stay away from round lights because on a black truck I think they look kinda like Mickey Mouse. I'd mainly use these for the back roads when I'm afraid of deer running out in front of me. Does anybody have any recommendations for some smaller, lower profile rectangular lights? 4 Wheel Parts has 10-20% off with free shipping this weekend, so I'm trying to take advantage of it. I also want some fog lights for the front, but I think I have those picked out (Hella Micro FF Fog Lamp Kit - unless anyone has any suggestions to change my mind). Thanks! Here's a picture of the current lights:
  7. I'm still working on my swap and I've run into a bit of a problem. My plastic line on the external slave was cut short and the existing line isn't long enough to meet to use the compression fitting you mentioned. Any idea for spanning the gap?
  8. I'm working on my 4wd swap and I bought my transmission and transfer case separate. Anybody happen to know the size of the nuts that hold them together? I really don't feel like pulling one of the studs to take it to the hardware store if I don't have to.
  9. What part of NC is it? I really could use a new rear bumper.
  10. I got the old transmission out, but before I put the new one in I think I'm going to try and pressure wash the underside and re-undercoat it (hopefully I can get the floor finished up too).
  11. I dropped my light and the bulb broke so I haven't had a good chance to look at it, but I figured if I was going to go through the trouble of replacing the transmission, I might as well. I got a new clutch kit from Advance Auto. I really want to get the new transmission in there, but now without the tranny in the way, its the perfect opportunity to finish up the patchwork on my floors and pressure wash and clean the rest of the underside.
  12. Well, I got it off. A friend came by and just man-handled it off. I was just afraid I still had something connected and was afraid of breaking something, but it just need some persuasion.
  13. No to the first question and no the 2nd even though I know I need to do that (its not the problem, I already checked that). Should have already done that, but just haven't. I'm thinking I just don't have it level enough to pull out. Hopefully I can make some time tonight to look at it again.
  14. Are you referring to what is marked as top plate on the diagram? I didn't remove any bolts from there, but best I can tell, there weren't any there to begin with.
  15. Where on the transmission did you attach the come along? Anyone else have any ideas?
  16. Based on that picture it looks like the two marked top plate, I don't have any bolts. From the transmission side of the bell housing, its just flush, but I can feel the holes coming from the engine side (no bolts though). Other than that, I've got the rest. I'm at a loss.
  17. I'm having a hard time visualizing what you're saying. Can you give me an idea on the orientation of where these bolts are so I know where to look? I'm assuming the CPS is the the plug on the top left of the bellhousing with the two 11mm bolts (if so, then yes I removed it). Its a manual AX-15. Thanks for the help.
  18. This might sound like a stupid question, but how do I separate the transmission from the engine? I've already removed all the bellhousing bolts including the two reverse torx bolts, the starter and the transmission cross member and I can't get the thing to budge. I used a ratchet strap around the rear axle and still nothing? Is there something else I've missed?
  19. I did some searching, but didn't quite find what I was looking for. I'm getting ready to tackle my 4wd transmission/transfer case swap. I have a combo from a '95 XJ with the external slave and the CJ pilot bushing. The question is, will my current clutch work ('90 2wd AX-15) or will I need to buy a new clutch to match the '95 4wd AX-15 transmission? Also, is there anything else I should look at replacing while I'm doing this?
  20. You do need the two senders, but otherwise its plug and play. I got the lenses from a guy selling them on craigslist, so I can't be much help there.
  21. I just scored a roll bar like you have. Can you post up a picture of your mounting points? I've got a couple ideas, but I thought I'd see how someone else has done it first. Thanks.
  22. This one didn't happen to be New London did it? If it is, I went and looked at it and can tell you about it.
  23. Man did I ever get lucky with my speedo gear. I knew my speedometer was off when I was on my 2wd 3.07 gears with 29" tires. When I swapped in the 3.55s and the 31s, my speedometer is dead on. Does the gear in the transmission for 2wd work in the transfer case for 4wd?
  24. That's weird cause everything I've read on naxja.org says that they are sealed and non serviceable. A couple people even referenced the factory service manual. Here's a link to one of the threads: http://naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=79776 Is the allen head bolt the bleeder? Cause I didn't see anything else that looked like a bleeder nipple.
