I want a Monster Miata (V8) like this: Something about running a 12.5 in a first gen Miata sounds like a ton of fun. A Hemi Brute would be fun too....

I'm not fixing anything. In fact, some might not even recognize it as different from the factory without me pointing it out, but I think it will be nicer than what came on it originally. -

I ordered a custom touch for the interior today. Nothing huge, but I think it will make a nice improvement. The good thing about it though is once mine is done, anyone else can order their own. -
Oh, and I called a left a message for the white one. Its already sold.

I went and looked at the Sportside today. The business was closed, but the driver door was unlocked. It obviously needs paint, but the body looks to be in good shape. There is quite a bit of surface rust, but I can't find any rot anywhere except on the rear bumper. The carpet and most of the padding was gone, so from what I could see of the floors, they were in good shape. Who knows what the seat covers are hiding, but they'll likely need some attention. Its a cool truck, but I can't imagine anyone paying $6500 for it. I wonder if he accidentally added a zero.

I rode by there tonight on the way to get dinner to see if they still have it. It wasn't parked out front; they had it around the side of the building. I'll go by tomorrow in the day light and get a better look. I also found an '86 Renegade that looks interesting. I need a winter project....

Its a 4 speed with a 360 and 4wd. It has power steering and brakes. It needs a paint job and a rear bumper, but that's all I know. Here's the craigslist link: http://charlotte.craigslist.org/ctd/3462655406.html I'd never spend $6500 on it, but its near by. I figure if I know what a "steal" would be I can go leave him my number for when it doesn't sell and he's willing to slash his price.

Who needs Google? Seriously, at least a dozen people on this board have done the swap. Backdraft even wrote a how-to. If you have questions, we're all here to help. Welcome!

I have a Chrysler 8.25 set up for a Comanche and I'm near by.

http://greenville.craigslist.org/cto/3454443330.html I met the owner and members of the shop that did the work on this truck, but unfortunately the truck wasn't there at the time, so I can't speak to the quality of the work. I know I would ask a lot more ($) for mine if I were to sell it.

You seem surprised at the values most have said. What were you hoping for and what would you need to sell it?

Looking good dude. What happened to that leaf? -
Not sure why your pictures didn't show up in your post. Looks like you have a good platform to start with. What are your goals/intended uses?

I'd love to add heated seats at some point, but I'm afraid of it melting the vinyl on my seats. I don't know what temperature they are rated for.

SOA with 2wd drive springs should net somewhere between 5.5" and 6.5" depending on the axle and perches and the condition of the springs. I think mine was closer to the upper end of that range than the lower.

A free Comanche? Free is awesome, but the body looks to be in great shape too. Welcome.

My '90 was 4 hours away and my '88 was 5 hours away. Took most of a day for both but worth it.

I buzz mine with clippers once a week but when I do shave it I use the best razor I have. I used to have an electric Norelco and it worked really well. What I don't like about disposable razors is that they're flat and my head is round. It seems to take a lot of extra strokes to get everything.

Hey, no problem. I followed your example for making it fit in the first place. I can give you a couple more details if you need them. -

Thanks Bob. Your's has a great look too. I really love some of the custom fab pieces on your truck and I still like the look of the flat flares better. It will be a stunner when its painted. -

I put the green grill in the other day just to see what it looks like after the lift and flares. I didn't like it as much as the black, so I took it back off. -

I got tired of the gap between my overhead console and the roof, so I spent a couple days fixing it. I cut some pieces from old fender liners to fill the gap and contour it with the roof. After a little epoxy, some reinforcement and a little putty, I recovered it and re-installed it last night. It fits better than the shadows of this picture make it look. It looks ten times better and I wish I had done this from the start. My brother looks a little surprised in this picture doesn't he? -
Jeep Comanche Roof Basket....

Here: http://comancheclub.com/topic/15728-get-your-comanche-club-gear-here-stickerscardsetc/ I know with some work, others have placed larger tires in the spare location. I just have a regular factory size spare. I thought about mounting mine on the light bar, but it would still take up a lot of the bed space. Buffalob mounted his like this: -

It looks like the newer tail lights were already present in his "before" picture. Nice looking truck dude. I especially like the X-fire seats. -
The money I spent on paint, you spent on your bumper, winch and audio equipment, but Mike's right. There are some things I spent money on twice, but I'm glad I have the truck I have. Money was just a tool to get me there. Look at it this way though, what truck out there could you buy for the same or less money with the same capability?
