  1. I believe so, but I guess it could be anything at this point.
  2. Anyone have any brake upgrade recommendations? When I've driven the truck I wasn't that impressed with the stopping ability, but I just attributed it to the bigger tires. Both my dad and brother drove my truck recently and said that they thought something was wrong. My dad almost rear ended his own truck just parking it. Its not dangerous to drive, but it could stand to be better. I installed new stock calipers and rotors upfront when I did the 4wd conversion back in the winter of 2010 (less than 15k miles). I'm pretty sure I swapped out the shoes in the 8.25 last summer, but I don't remember. Its possible that I didn't bleed the lines well enough and still have a little air trapped. My inspection is due by the end of the year, maybe I'll just have the shop re-bleed the brakes just to make sure. Otherwise, I might consider something with a little more bite.
  3. I guess its a regional thing. Maybe the regular wrecking yards have Wranglers, but none of the you pull yards around here ever have them. I think I've seen one YJ, but never a TJ, but good find.
  4. I guess it could just be the picture, but it looks like your control arms are way too short for the amount of your lift.
  5. That color is fantastic! What is it?
  6. I really want to bring her in for an interview just to ask, but I wouldn't seriously consider hiring them, so it would just be to embarrass them. There is a connection to my work, so it could come back on me and I don't need that. But I really want to bring her in just to see how she answers various equine related questions. It could be a lot of fun.
  7. While reviewing resumes for a customer service representative position, I came across a cover letter where the individual touts her equine experience. Since this position has absolutely nothing to do with horses, I began to wonder if there was an alternate meaning for the word that I just wasn't familiar with. I asked several others and even consulted with a foreign speaker to see if it was a translation error. Nothing made much sense until I found this: http://www.buzzle.com/articles/samples-of-a-good-cover-letter.html This person basically copied the whole letter, but it still didn't make any sense. What do horses have to do with baking? So, after a little more research, I found this: http://jobsearch.about.com/od/coverlettersamples/a/targeted2.htm So the moral of the story: if you're going to plagiarize a cover letter, make sure someone else hadn't already done it badly before you and don't leave anything in your letter that you don't understand.
  8. I got a patch panel and did a little work. I'm not done and its not perfect, but for my first welding project, I'm happy with my progress so far.
  9. I was able to buy this one new in the box almost three years ago. I actually traded it for a nice black bumper. Is the only thing that makes it a Laredo are the gray end caps? I couldn't tell a difference otherwise. Good luck on the hunt.
  10. For what I paid, I hoped that these lights would be significantly better than what I had and honestly, I'm amazed. I took some pictures, but they really don't capture just how bright these guys are. Here are my poorly aimed high beams (these are the aftermarket Autopal housings with H4s and upgraded wiring): And with the new Oracle's: This just looks cool When I flipped them on for the first time going down the back road to my house I was just blown away. I've very satisfied.
  11. Install went pretty easy since I've already done it before. I bought some new pins for the weather pack connectors, fed the wires through and hooked them up. I'm happy with the size compared to what I had before. They are pretty dang bright in the daylight, so I'm curious to see what they'll look like in the dark.
  12. The lights came in this week. Here you can see a comparison between the old and the new: Its really a shame that the old lights are less than a year and a half old and the finish is completely gone. I picked up some new pins and seals for my weather pack connectors so my goal is to get them swapped out this weekend.
  13. There are long and short shaft gears depending on the year (probably all the same with MJs and XJs though). If you can't find the gear with the correct length shaft, they can be swapped. This is usually an issue when you put larger tires on.
  14. My belt squealed like crazy until I tightened it down. I don't know what spec is, but 1" of deflection seems like a lot. Horn issues and an airbag light seems like a dead ringer for the clock spring.
  15. I went ahead and ordered the Oracles. It was just too good of a deal to pass up.
  16. Just ordered two of these to replace the lousy ProComp lights on my bar. I found a deal I just couldn't pass up.
  17. OK, so I know I said $150, but I found these: http://www.amazon.com/Oracle-Lighting-5721-001-Off-Road-Light/dp/B00B8OVSBM#productDetails I actually picked these out originally, but couldn't justify $200 a piece. At $126 each it seems like a really good deal. They only bad thing is I wouldn't be able to use my credit at 4 Wheel Parts. I'm really happy with my Rigid reverse light, but I'm not sure how Oracle compares. Tempted....
  18. I have one from my '90 but I think NC might be a pretty far drive for you.
  19. I currently have a set of ProComp 5x7 100w lights on my roll bar (see here: http://www.4wheelparts.com/Lighting-Lighting-Accessories/100-Watt-5-x7-Light.aspx?t_c=14&t_s=448&t_pt=4242&t_pn=EXP9101) I wisely purchased the three year warranty for them because in a year's time, the finish on the housings has almost completely vanished and left a rusted mess behind. The local 4 Wheel Parts store has told me that instead of just replacing them with a new identical set, I can use the credit for the purchase price toward something else. Since I don't want to replace my lights once a year, I want a different light. If at all possible I would like to keep the smaller 5x7 rectangular shape (instead of a round or the larger 6x9 rectangular lights), but I don't want to waste money on inferior lights, so if I have to compromise there, I will. I use these primarily in conjunction with my high beams to spot deer on the side of rural back roads. KC has a similar 5x7 light, but they are only 55w. I'm willing to spend a little more for a better light, but I'd like for my total price to be under $150. Obviously there are much better lights out there for more money, but I can't justify the expense when I use them so infrequently. I have a Rigid single light that I use as a cargo lamp/reverse light and if I could find an LED light that wasn't so small and expensive, I might consider it. The problem with most of the LED lights, other than price is that they mount so low that they wouldn't shine over the curvature of the roof very well. Below you can see a general idea of the size and placement on my roll bar. Thanks for any help.
  20. I believe you do need the rod. I remember swapping it all out when I went from my 231 to 242 (but I also went from an AX-15 to AW4 and the same time).
  21. That's not evil; that's satisfaction you're hearing. Congrats.
  22. Wow....................! I'm kind digging the fat tires in the back, sorta. It would almost be fun trying to make it look normal again.
  23. Yay!! Great news! I sold my 3" springs after I went SOA, but I will recommend them to anyone; I was very happy with them and I'm glad you're back in business.
  24. I finished the red car and its for sale. Now I have my work cut out for me on the blue car. I have to fix this crappy patch job on the floor: It didn't look so bad on top, but underneath was a different story: The patches were way too big and covered up good metal. This looks a little familiar (I'm having flashbacks to working on the MJ): For such a crappy paint job on this car, they sure painted everything (the original color was dark green). As soon as I can sell the red car, patch the floor and install my rear axle, I'll have the engine bay painted. Any suggestions on color?
