It looks like everything from the radiator forward is toast, as well as the hood and front left fender. The lower control arm is badly bent, I see some gear oil leaked out of the axle tube on the drivers side. I believe any frame damage is minor but its hard to tell. Maybe. I can do without a lumber rack but without one I have to tow my trailer in order to transport materials. Thing is I can possibly be reimbursed for a rental truck but not for buying a vehicle to use temporarily. I am requesting a rental truck from the insurance of the guy ho hit me today, assuming I can find the time, I have 10+ yards of concrete to pour today. The appraiser is supposed to call me today. I did go to the ER. I have a cervical muscle strain. Basically feels like a really cramped trap muscle.

I'm in a tough position because I either have to buy a truck right away or be out of work. Its summer time, I m a contractor and have a 10 week old baby. I can't just not work for a month+.

When i was with state farm i went in and asked them about this and they said i was crazy and that's not a thing.

I wonder if an insurance estimator would consider the Hagerty Valuation Tool?
-
Yep. I guess I have no choice but to take a loan out on a truck asap. I have to make a living.

Well its a sad day. A bit of a neck strain but I'm ok. My main concern now is what value will be placed on my truck. Anyone have knowledge/ experience getting insurance adjusters to recognize the value of an older vehicle is great shape? I use my MJ to make a living as a contractor so this really hurts.

Yeah, kinda wouldn't make sense for their to be coolant in the intake. Thanks -
coolant temperature sensor oddity
EUREKA replied to EUREKA's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Well these connectors are the brand of auto connector I have on hand in my garage, so I may have been the jackass who did this. -
The coolant temp sensor in my 1988 MJ 4.0 seems to be different that what is indicated by every source of information I have found. Here is a pic of the one from my truck vs what parts stores suggest, The weird thing is that the connector on my harness appears to be stock, based on the age, color and type of wire. I opened the harness quite far and there is no sign of a splice. Maybe someone replaced only the connector on the harness side? Whats going on here?

I have an AW4 transmission from a 1991 4.0 MJ. I'm not seeing any difference between it and the AW4 in my 1988 MJ. I was wondering what years and models have identical AW4's to my 1988 4.0 AW4 MJ? Also what are the deference in AW4's from these, Jeep Cherokee (XJ): 1991 to 2001 models equipped with the 4.0L inline-six engine. Jeep Grand Cherokee (ZJ): 1993 to 1998 models equipped with the 4.0L inline-six engine. Jeep Wrangler (YJ and TJ): 1987 to 1995 models (YJ) with the 4.0L engine. 1997 to 2002 models (TJ) with the 4.0L engine.

My father owned a custom metal fab shop and I was a welder for years. I call it stitch welding. It's many tack welds.

I bought a rack off Craigslist and heavily modified it, because metal costs so much these days. -
