  1. Oh, gotcha. I'll probably ask again what I should be looking for once I start looking to covert to 4WD
  2. Ah gotcha, I got the 3.07 on my D44. If I ever convert to a 4WD, is there even a D30 geared in 3.07 for he front or do I just have to find the gearing for a D44 to match the front?
  3. Well, with the pending economic downturn, I got a feeling people will start selling their fun vehicles and projects off more and more I'm personally hoping to snatch a rear chrome bumper or a brush guard in the process
  4. Thanks eaglescout! Would I want to be looking for D44 for the gearing? Junkyard listed it as a 4x4 Also, what could I grab from a trailer package? Also, also, what's the high emissions control package?
  5. Got to 217k before I had the engine rebuilt due to a rod bearing going out. I was getting 7 mpg at that point, but the truck still ran. Used the engine tech full rebuild kit. It's at like 220-225k now
  6. I got no idea. I asked the guy at the front, and he said he saw it like that a week ago. It almost looked on purpose, but I can't fathom as to why. I could pull the 231 next time I'm there but getting anything above the floors is a massive pain. I'm also primarily looking for the 242, so I don't know if it's even worth the hassle on that one. I was going to pull the powered mirror harness but I didn't take my shears and there was no way I would have been able to move anything out of the way to remove it with the roof on top of center console
  7. They crushed it for some reason, but I pulled the chrome powered mirrors. The other XJ on the yard was also crushed
  8. I work a 48 hr shift until Sunday morning, so I'm trying to plan what I'm going to be pulling from it Entrance fee is free that day but then I'm driving 2 hrs to pick up that soft topper and then 5 hrs to pick up my MJ from my hometown. I feel like I'm pretty oblivious of the RENIX stuff whenever I go look at a RENIX XJ. Here's hoping the interior is still good!
  9. 1987 XJ at a junkyard Any info would be good for parts extraction
  10. So, I had the engine rebuilt. I was only involved in buying the parts prior to sending it to get rebuilt and in picking the paint they used on the engine for looks. The rest of the engine bay is still not particularly pretty. My fuel economy bumped to 15mpg city and 18/19 highway. 17 mpg average. I forgot to take pictures, haha. It's now getting repainted. I'll upload pictures once I see it (and if I actually like the way it came out lmao). Either way, I discovered a hole in the exhaust. Not sure how much that affects fuel economy, but it definitely heats up the body under the seats (where the exhaust is leaking). There's also the thing about the EVAP system not working so the gas tank is consistently pressurized. I got some powered chrome mirrors off a '91 XJ, whose roof was crushed by the yard for some reason. Cannot explain as to why. The other XJ on the yard was also crushed. Sucks because it looked like no one had taken stuff from them yet. Either way, the problem will be figuring out the wiring and where to place the switch to move them. I also got the headliner redone, and the rear window replaced, as the sliding glass door was plexiglass. More updates once I go pick it up. I also had the floors repaired/welded with new floor pans. And bought the original 5 spoke aluminum wheels that came with the truck originally from a junkyard. Pulled them from a '91 XJ, and the printed date on the wheels even read a build date a day prior to mine. So close enough I guess! Got 2 pairs of chrome door handles, and a few other misc parts. New tires too. Ill get around fixing the suspension/steering at some point, but I'm already dreading it
  11. Thanks for the notice! I'm picking it up this Sunday
  12. Eaglescout will be your go-to for that engine lol Nice truck!
  13. It's got all the chrome stuff too, specially the rear chrome bumper and tailgate handle
  14. I got him down to $216.50 shipped. Didn't even notice someone shared the post here haha
  15. At least it was one of us!
  16. Thanks!
  17. '91 XJ out of San Antonio Trying to see what transfer case it has
  18. Kinda weird that they just grouped the Pioneer decals into one, despite the decals changing for the 91-92 years
  19. Jeep XJ - 97+, Current Utility Vehicle at my Alma Mater
  20. The truck will look dope with that new grille guard. Seeing HOrnbrod's posts still providing help years after his passing is inspiring. Hopefully replacing those parts fixes the issue. While my stepdad was driving my truck, it just died on him out of nowhere and turned on without problem. So I'll have to try it as a fix if it works for you.
  21. H0rnbrod talking about ignition coil failure I might also have this problem. Long crank time and intermittent engine shut offs under load
  22. Thanks Eagle
