  1. Cool news!!
  2. Let me see the verses that you're referring to. CPSs can be intermittent and/or weak.
  3. Sorry for the confusion. No, you don't NEED to eliminate the C101 in order to use the ECU. It's just a strong suggestion as a matter of course. What I would like to see, and I think you guys would appreciate, is eliminating the c101 in the meantime. Report back on that. Then, hunt down an ECU and install it. Make a comparison.
  4. I've only got one for a manual trans. Not at the same time as swapping the ECU, in the interest of science, but sometime eliminate your c101 per my post 27 in my link below.
  5. I know what happens with the ECU for sure. 89 and 90 were 182 horsepower. 91 with HO was 190 horsepower. That's a whole different animal though. I swapped an 89 ECU into my wife's 88 a few years back and the difference is quite noticeable.
  6. ECU, yes. Here's the caveat. You can use one from an auto trans equipped XJ or Mj in either an auto or manual trans vehicle. If you use a manual trans ECU, you could have idle issues in gear with your automatic. 8953005428 is auto. 8953005429 is manual. There are other part numbers that will work and there is a "year date" somewhere on the ECU. TCU is more for just the 87s which had a different shift program than later years.
  7. Confirmed over the weekend the difference in ECUs used on Renix 4.0s. I was sure there was a difference but I used my neighbor as a guinea pig with his 87. I let him use one of my 89 to 90 ECUs as long as he installed it. He came back from the test drive smiling from ear to ear. Last night he installed the later model Renix TCU, I'll have a report back in a day or so.
  8. Maharaja sounds too much like Oyaji to me.
  9. You need to carry either 3 mile island or Fukushima chocolate.
  10. May be the flick of a switch, but it's a "walk" from there.
  11. Like ordering Chinese food, isn't it? Check the CPS output. With post 7, you get eggrorr.
  12. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy!! Glad to hear it!!
  13. Me, too. I'm enjoying the 1/4" one I recently got also.
  14. Add a KelTec 32 semi auto and I'm pretty close.
  15. That's progress, isn't it? It's called a "walk" for a reason, eh Reverend?
  16. Of the 27 tips in my signature, which ones have you performed?
  17. Make sure you check the pushrod dimension while you're at it. I like your approach.
  18. Still haven't checked booster rod to master cylinder dimension, have we? It's all the way at the end of this article. http://www.autoshop101.com/forms/brake05.pdf
  19. Ever test your CPS? Check the ground behind the taillight? Check the fuel pump ballast resistor connections, or bypass it?
  20. Geyser in one part and not in the other?
  21. Adjust the rear shoes. Possible bad master cylinder.
  22. It WILL fit. XJ Cherokee and ZJ Grand Cherokee 4.0L engine blocks interchange. 2000+ TJ Wrangler and WJ Grand Cherokee 4.0L engine blocks interchange. XJ/ZJ blocks and 2000+ TJ/WJ blocks do not interchange without significant modifications. (1991 to 1995 YJ and 1997-1999 4.0L TJ Wrangler blocks will interchange in XJ/ZJ and visa-versa). TJ/WJ 4.0L Engine blocks underwent clean sheet design changes effective in the 1999 WJ Grand and 2000 TJ Wrangler. These blocks are not interchangeable with XJ/ZJ engine blocks. The reason is motor mount bolt holes and belt driven accessory mounting bolt holes are in different locations, or not present at all, TJ/WJ vs. XJ/ZJ. XJ: "Regular" (not Grand) Cherokees 84-01 ZJ: Grand Cherokee 93-98 (Gen1) WJ: Grand Cherokee 99-04 (Gen2) YJ: Wrangler 87-95 (Gen1) TJ: Wrangler 97-06 (Gen2)
