So idk if anyone has done a write up in how to do this or not, but I was sick and tired of my girlfriend shutting the passenger door and thus happening So I decided to try and figure out a way to stiffen up the little arms on the housing to hold the best pillar lights in place more snugly, and this is what I came up with. Pretty simple and awesome fix if you ask me.... Basically all I did was take a plain and simple zip tie (not the 100 lb test) and slide a small piece in between the arms and the housing. I started by cutting a piece just wide enough to reach all the way across the housing without extending past the arms. Once I had that done i started by sliding the piece under one arm Proceeding to slide it more towards the middle and the other arm And then VERY CAREFULLY, and I mean very carefully prying the other arm up enough to slide the piece under These next step was sliding the piece down towards the bottom a little at a time so that I don't put too much pressure on the arms And finally seating the zip tie at the bottom of the arms and housing I then super glued each side of both arms so that the zip tie wouldn't come out due to road vibrations or door slams And thats it, very simple and VERY effective... they don't move at all...... Let me know what yall think!! Thanks guys if you made it this far!! Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

I've seen another one of these before, but what I don't understand is why they wouldn't use a back door from a cherokee instead of 2 front doors Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk -

Wait a minute...... you are going to have to go into a little more detail about your window "spontaneously combusting" Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

Alright well ill look around next time I'm in the junkyard before I take anyone else's stockpile... I'm sure those things will be hard to come by before too long Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

I only have 2, but I figured I'd replace all of them because the 2 I have fit sort of loose. I was wondering if there was somewhere online that sold them or if I needed to go rummage for them at the JY Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

No, XJs only. Thats what I thought... the MJ came with a dome light right? And do you know what these little things are called I'm missing a few of them and want to try and get my hands on some Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

Was this a factory option for the MJ? I'm almost positive that mine isn't factory because of some of the janky things that were done to it like this for instance OR this. . Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

Wiggilez I tried pulling down on them and I don't feel like that's not right, I was pulling so hard I was afraid the console was going to pull off the headliner... it sort of feels like it has a spring or something holding it in there Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

Yes hornbrod it is in my MJ, i think it came out of an XJ and the previous owner cut it down length wise so it would fit in the comanche. I hated it when I first got the truck but it's sort of growing on me... Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

I feel dumb for even asking this but I don't know how to change the bulbs in my overhead console... please don't rub it in lol Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

Hornbrod, do you have a link to a write up on how to do the conversion? I'm curios to see how "easy" it would be Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

I am planning on hitting the junkyards this coming weekend if nothing comes up, I can look to see if i can find white doors if you'd like. I'm the shipping and receiving guy at my job so I can find out exactly what it would cost for shipping to where you're at if you'd like Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

And why does the door need to be non power, you should be able to cut the wires and remove all the power mechanisms and replace with your manual stuff right? Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

What color is your truck... there are a bunch of cherokees with good doors here in TN, i wasnt too worried about the paint matching since I'll be getting a paint job as soon as I have the money, but bow that I think about it I think I'll need a red so the door jams will match and all Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

You're not the only one with this problem buddy... my comanche has the same thing but it has had all three types of mirrors at some point. I've been going over this same question to my self so I'll be keeping up with this one. My passenger door has some body damage as well so I was thinking of totally replacing it as well, but you're making it sound like it would not be that simple? Am I just reading your post wrong? Thanks strokermjcomanche, that's what my next question was going to be since I had to use pliers to pull out the old bulbs piece by piece Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
