Dash lights & blower motor
madog7200 replied to madog7200's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Ok... I'm guessing it was a coincidence, changed the fuse and it blew again. Swapped that one out and now they are staying on... On to the blower motor... I pulled it and hooked it directly to the battery and it spins fine. Changed the resistor and it still doesn't work... Do the climate control head units go bad in these things often? I can hear the doors operating when switching from vent to defrost and all of that, but no fan? I saw no visible damage on the resistor plug and I have no fan on any variation of the climate control head unit Thanks in advance guys Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk -
I know there has been multiple write ups on both of these subjects... but is there any reason why my dash lights and my blower motor would stop working at the same time or is this just pure coincidence? 91 4.0 5 speed Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

Yep, that's a 4WD steering wheel. Very rare item. I can't tell if I'm sensing sarcasm or Not? Was this steering wheel a factory option Don? Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

That's what I thought, I'm beginning to wonder if the fact that I used bigger diameter hose as vacuum line is the problem? Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

It's a 5 speed, the throttle body and was cleaned thoroughly when we swapped motors. And I replaced the vacuum line going from the map to the intake manifold Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

At what rpm does y'alls trucks idle... I've got this new motor in and now it is idling at about 1500 which I know is too high and I can't figure out why.. We started by fixing the exhaust leak caused by the new manifold being bent and not sitting flush with the block, and I've replaced all of the vacuum lines thinking it was getting too much air... Now I'm at a stand still It's a 91 4.0 4wd Thanks in advance guys Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

I'll probably buy another matching flasher for the other location this weekend and see if that might fix the problem... if not I guess ill go back to the incandescents Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk That's not the problem. One flasher is for the turn signals, the other is for the hazard warning flashers. They operate independently. Do your hazards work with the LEDs? Yes hazards work but no only a few right side turn signal flashes and no driver side signal flashes Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

I bought this one, it was marked variable load on the back of the package, but like I said before I only bought one... could that be the issue? On another note the kid at o reilys was trying to talk me into the ballasts that you wire in, but if it comes to that I'll just go back to the incandescent... And I'd like to stay with the leds since I paid pretty good money for them but I'm not going to start splicing wires either, that's just opening myself up to more unnecessary problems in the future Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

Yeah no problems before the leds were installed Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

So I bought one flasher marked variable load that was listed and I put it in the spot on the top right of the fuse housing first and nothing was changed, so then I put it in the spot on the bottom left of the fuse housing and now I get anywhere from 0 to 4 flashes out of the passenger blinker with about a 1 full second pause in between flashes and thats it. The driver side does nothing, just very dimly lights up the green arrow on my dash solid green no flashes? Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

I would be interested if someone on here could verify good fit and finish, maybe provide some nice up close pic's? Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk -
And a big high five to the first person who can point me in the direction of a good replacement Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

Just went outside and snapped a couple pic's this is what mine looks like it's hard to tell I know but it's dark... But the "crushed" part is right below the flange Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

Well now I'm getting what seems to be a slight backfire every now and then... I'm wondering if it has to do with the new header having better air flow which might be creating back pressure? Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

Is anyone running the oem exhaust pipe on their 6 cylinder. I bought a new stainless steel exhaust manifold and when I was installing it on the new motor I saw that the flange on the pipe looks crushed. So I was wondering if anyone could snap a picture of their pipe so I could see if mine is crushed or if it's made that way from the factory Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

I just bought some walmart brand leds for the front running lamps and the front turn signals. Now my blinkers don't work. Hazards work fine and brake lamps are fine but no blinkers front or rear. I have been running the sylvania leds in the rear for some time now with no problems. I think i remember reading something about this problem on here before but I can't find what I'm looking for. If anyone has any ideas or knows a good link that would help me out it would be greatly appreciated! Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

Just wondering if someone would be willing to snap a quick pic of their clutch pedal and show me exactly how to hook this spring up correctly Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
