Thanks for the idea, now I gotta find someone with an xj

I read somewhere that some manches produced in the later part of 86 have the firewalls that are cut for the 4.0. Is there a way to tell If I have that or not? I don't have a build date sticker on my truck so I don't know if was later in the year or not.

1986 Jeep Comanche Custom 2.5, ax5, d30 front, d35 rear. No sticker for build date :( Located in the Rittman, Ohio Runs, but not very good. And the floors still aren't done. Considering doing a carburated camaro 3.4 or 4.0 swap in the future. First time I took it to do a little wheeling. When I say little I mean it, my tires were baaaaaaaald Did this in my college "Intro to Computers" This day they taught us how to save a file. I, however, found photoshop :D Large Interior pieces are all being painted tan/khaki. The smaller pieces(Speaker grill, window cranks and such) Being painted black Good pic of my massive pipe bumper. I like it, but would really like a stock bumper.

Ive been looking for a dana 44 to through under the MJ for a while. What donor vehicles should I look for that have it? I see a lot of non-jeep ones, not so many from jeeps.
-
Glad you posted this, I was about to ask the same thing. I'll keep a look out for them if I find more then one I'll let you know!
-
Emailed Hellcreek and got a really vague answer. If I were to get the rustys 2" lift shocks would i have to add to the pack or do you think I would be fine? Suspension is definately not my forte'
-
When I get these I want to do new shocks. Looking at rustys bbut with the 2" from the leaves should I get the rustys 2" lift shocks or just stick to stock?
-
And I did pm JeepcoMJ but he did the 3.8, lots of custom goodies to do with that one lol
-
Its the 2.5, it's still running but its getting wore out and would like more power.

Trim Molding behind seats?
pwrliftin replied to pwrliftin's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Thanks! Now to find the trim :fs1: -
Is there supposed to be some form of trim under the back glass behind the seats? There isnt one in my truck, but it looks like there should be. Doing some interior painting and would like to find the peice if there is one so i can get everything painted at once.

Ive been browsing around looking to see if anyone has done a build thread on it and I havent found one. All I ever see is that for an 86 its a good swap because of how the firewall is set up to not accept a 4.0. Would like to find some more information before I start looking for a donor camaro! :wrench:

Got all the floors in before I went back to college. Have pics but forgot my camera so it'll be a while before I post them. next time I go home I will be putting bedliner on the floor, rust proofing the bottom, cleaning up the frame under the bed, redoing the bedliner, and painting my interior. If i get time I will also be installing an overhead console and reinforcing my headliner, its mighty flimsy! BUT I HAVE FLOOOOOORS!!!!!!!! -
Been playin guitar and sax for about 7 years, picked up banjo about 3 years ago. Grew up with a bluegrass dad and a heavy metal mom. Yes, I do hit the fuzz on the banjo occasionally, its freaky. But I'm a 5th generation mountain musician, played in everything from bluegrass to black metal. My mp3 player has the oddest selection to most people :D

Guitar player and banjo picker here! i also have a wide range of vocal talents, from country to death metal, i can do it haha. :waving:

Its the name of my dads bluegrass/punk band. So i took the name cause they have stickers made, and it does fit perfectly for the truck haha -
That is pretty rough
-
Yea, I'm rockin the Fred Flinstone floors right now, but getting them in next week. Living 5 hours a way from my MJ is aggravating
-
Gets the job done, thats all that matters to me. Id rather have that then the 2.8. Been kicking around the idea of the 3.4, but theres a lot of work I need to do before I consider a new engine.
-
I'm perfectly fine with the extra lift, Ill probably just level out the front and leave it. Just want the extra strength for wood hauling and takin the fourwheeler to my deer camp. Not like I'm gunna jack her way up, that 2.5 is gettin tired.
