  3. What mileage do you get with your MJ? I'm getting just under 15 mpg with the 2.5L running 35's, which isn't as bad as I thought it'd be. I'm sure I'm on the low end but I was just wondering what other people were getting. Please include your engine and tire size.

The 8.8 earthquake in Chile yesterday has triggered a tsunami that is predicted to hit the islands at about 11am local time (4pm eastern time). They are predicting waves of about 8 feet. Hopefully it won't be that severe.

  18. Did they run a pregnancy test? :dunno: I have a degenerative disc that decided it was a good time to start rubbing against my spinal cord. That put me out of work for six weeks and another 6 weeks of part-time restricted duty. Hopefully I can go back to full-time at the end of this month.
  19. I actually got the RC crawler before my MJ. Its an Axial Scorpion 1/10th crawler. They are fun as hell, especially if you have a good area to play with them (I love living in N Nevada!). Here's a few pics: And my custom beadlocks:

  22. Thanks for the replies guys. We did find the CTS, its not near where the Chilton's book said. Tried burping and everything seemed to go alright but still overheating according to the gauge. So today I got hold of a infrared thermometer to check if the engine was really overheating or the gauge was lying to me. I let the engine idle for about 10 minutes and drove it around the neighborhood a couple times. Here's what the thermometer read when I pointed it around the engine: Coolant Temperature Sensor: 200* Housing over the thermostat: 178* Water Pump: 180* Top of the radiator: 152* Bottom of the radiator: 58* Given that I'd say I'm not overheating. Also I pulled the wire from the CTS and the gauge only dropped to ~160* (from ~235*), the needle should have dropped to the bottom of the gauge (100*) right? Looks like a bad gauge. What do you guys think?
  23. I just replaced the t-stat and my MJ is still overheating. The coolant is now reaching the radiator (before the radiator stayed cold but its heating up now). I think there may be air in the system but I don't know how to burp it. I'm trying to find the coolant temp sensor to let the air out but I don't know where it is on the engine. I have a 2.5 L. Any help would be greatly aqppreciated.

  25. Hmm... The engine is struggling at 3000 RPM (starts shaking something awful). The PO did swap the instrument cluster. I've read before on this forum that swapping an instrument cluster from a 4.0 into a 2.5 involves making a change to the tachometer. Could my RPM be reading lower if the instrument cluster in it now is from a 4.0? I've never pushed it above 3000 RPM as that seriously feels like the limit of the engine.
