so i broke down and ordered some American racing outlaw 2s for the truck. after a coworker told me that the wheel spacers i ordered are illegal on road use for pa. well live and learn no i have ton send those back
-
I thought about a wheel because I'm not sure how much I trust wheel spacers but I sprung for good ones. Right now I just wanna be able to drive the truck I had it for 6 months now and it never saw road yet. Plus I do love the rims.
-
ok so i moved the truck around the yard today and my cousin was down watching me. when the front end started clunking at full lock. turns out that the tires and grabbing the lower control arms by the smallest bit. so i ordered spydertrax 1.25 spacer kit from quadratic. anyone else have this happen with 33s on stock rims like mine?
-
well i scratched another thing off the ta do list. i got the new axle u joints installed. the passenger side went great had it knocked out in a half hour. the drive side was a bit tougher. the unit bearing was hard and seized to to the splines on the yoke and all the threads were rusted and hammered on the yoke. well the local napa had the fix for the axle threads. they rented me a spline threader kit. for anyone that needs to know it was a 24x2 mill for the threads, the bearing was put in a 12 ton shop press and heated red hot with a torch and beat with a hemmer to get it to come lose. after all that the simple u joint job was done 3 days later haha.

thanks man. the red really brought the old girl to a new level.
-
thanks man i appreciate the feedback it seems like no one whats to reply haha. i thought about making them, i liked how the rough county ones had the little brace gusset right behind them so i thought about making something like that.

got the new rims and the 33's on her. what do you guys think?
-
i decided to go head and do the 5.5 inch budget lift off this forum. the front end went pretty smooth. i had it knocked out pretty quick. the rear of the truck was a bit more complicated. the p.o. had put lift leafs under the truck so i had to wait till they got here. in the meantime i pulled the rear and got the old brake lines off it for some new ones. one of the leaf spring bolts were froze to the sleeve in the leaf bushing, so i got out the ball joint press to get the stubborn guy out. got the leafs on and the mounts tacked on ans mocked up. gotta say i though it was gonna be easier. but its done and looks good and here's the truck sitting on its own wieght and a few more all done i still have to get the 33's on her and the rocksliders from krustyballer!

is anyone even reading this anymore haha. well ill keep posting anyways. i was waiting till i had the next part of the project done to post to here it is. i stuffed the truck in the garage and got to it. i removed most on the trim and things on the outside and got to work with some 220 grit paper and a da sander then i got to work doing body work. both sides of the box are pretty hammered to i decieded to just try to hide the weld in patches from being seen. its just gonna look dented when its done. then i shot the whole thing i primer then i got to work with the spot puddy smoothing out all the rough that was left over from the bondo. and shot the whole thing in primer again then after a quick scuff i hung plastic up and shot the truck in the factory color. enamel Colorado red. i got a few runs on the box where i started. but for my first time ever doing this i think it came out pretty good. and the finish product

while i was waiting for some garage space to open back up i installed my tilt column and found out the 4 tilt bolts were lose. so i decided to tighten and lock tight those

ok guys i received a box from ups today (napier flairs!!) so i pulled the jeep in the garage and got to work i pulled the front flairs off and cut the excess fender off under the header panel well after i got the fender marked up i started hacking away with a grinder with a cut off wheel on it. it was a little difficult to get the fender rounded with in the corners with it but i made do. the finished product came out pretty good i think. i only got the fronts done tonight. i have to fab up some bed sides to get the rears to work. stay tuned.

got the comanche out of the garage and put it next to my iroc for a poser shot.

New Owner 1988 Comanche 4.0 Problems

Since nobody spoke up here I'll throw in my 2 cents. The knock that your herein my be lifter tick which isn't a big deal, but might be solved with a heavier weight oil. I'm not sure what you ment by blowoff for the heater core. As for the offroad part goes. It really depends on a couple factors. How much time can you put in to it. How deep is your wallet. And can you survive without driving it for a couple days while work is in progress on it. Obviously a 4x4 conversion would be a great addition to your rig. That being said there are lots of people wheeling their 2wd trucks and have no problem. I just like the insurance of 4x4 if I need it. Last of all don't be afraid to ask questions. These guys are super friendly and really know what their talking about. -
the floor pans are from a company called classic to current fabrication.
-
I bought them off ebay. I'll get the name when I get off work

i went to the junkyard the other day and found a set of open style headrests for an older cherokee. i was also able to install my brown dog motor mounts, man are those things beefy .
-
so my brother turned me on to otrattw.com for their switches. i looked in to them and ended up decided to go that route for all my light switches. i went to ebay and got relay harnesses form opt seven. i only have a picture of the switches in the panel right now, but you can see why i went with them. .
