  1. also make sure that the gear ratio matches the rear.
  2. exactly. well except for the angled cut on the bumper.
  3. a few teasers as to what i have been up to... and the obligatory weld close up
  4. height. maybe load capacity too, but I'm not sure about that.
  5. the only time i get wheelhop/axle wrap is in 2wd in the sand. otherwise it is non existent. thats with SOA, 2wd leafs, 1" lift shackle and detroit locker.
  6. i have thought about it a lot. the one thing that always held me back from doing it was the fact that the leafs perform so well. they pretty much match the flex of my front end. stable flex is good flex.
  7. who let this guy in?
  8. if its nice out, i usually drive around doorless. i like wheeling with the half doors because you can still see plus it adds a little security.
  9. best looking Eliminator on this site, hands down. I'm glad Rob got to see it, now he can relay the awesomeness of it to me.
  10. Really how is that? brandon for poop like this... i don't know how much wheeling you do or have done, but the seat belts like to lock up all the time and you can't even get a small peek out the window when that happens. with a half door, you can at least get somewhat of a good look out to see what your doing. plus like the others have said, you can see better out of it and its good for hot days (except for the fact that the flat black paint gets HOT on sunny days)
  11. thanks guys. i LOVE the half door, one of the best things i have ever made. SOOOOO much better for wheelin.
  12. long time no update. been REALLY busy with school lately. done some stuff to the MJ over the past months. mainly wheeled it. but... i changed over to black flares then my last trip ended early and bad... damage was both ball joints leaving the inner C, which in turn ripped/broke the u-joint out of the shaft. the ears on the shaft stretched so that to is junk. had to winch into a tree to lift the front end off the ground to get the tire and brake assembly off so we could drag the truck onto level ground.
  13. you guys missed a good time, like always. i blew out a tail light though. man, thats gonna cost me like $150 :(
  14. mine is full on custom. i run 6.5" Rustys coils. all 4 arms are 2" 1/4 wall DOM adjustable and they have johnny joints. the lower frame mounts were easy to position, obviously. for the upper mounts, i had some old 2" pipe laying around and i just laid under the jeep putting it in different positions to see if it would interfere with anything. i eventually found the "sweet" spot to build the mounts. here are some pics for reference...
  15. cool. i never had a jeep with y-links, but just observing jeeps with them has me not liking them.
  16. RK 3 or 4-link and call it a day. i would never run a y-link setup for wheelin. my 4-link is so stable and predictable, no unloading on vertical walls or wheelhop.
  17. good solid plan, brent. for your rear springs, i would just SOA it with some 2wd leafs. they just plain ride better and perform better offroad. although, I'm not sure what kind of towing you do. i tow my quad around places and they sag, but not horrible. SOA-ing my truck was worlds better than when i had the rustys SUA leafs in.
  18. if you drive normal and don't just hammer on it all day, you can have fun and make it home safe.
  19. bring it!!!! 2 MJs are better than 1.
  20. and yes, the Cummins would be towing.
  21. yes. i run 2wd packs and they are super flexy. they suck though for towing or hauling heavy loads because they sag too much, but i couldnt care less about that.
  22. i think he was there. but yeah, if he was there it was him haha.
  23. one is Jerry (and his GF Shaina). he was there with his bro at the last meet and greet.
  24. yup, should be at least 2 XJs.
