Strokermjcomanche, good find. Did you meet the guy? The dates in the thread indicate he was last online in the CC but his last post for the handle was March 4, 2015. $32 cost would be nothing considering only one is needed for possibly the rest of the vehicle's life. Most of the pictures don't open for me.

True. I don't know how along ago he stopped making them but with time, rust and metal fatigue, we will all need them. Maybe someone will pick it up where he left off. Thanks for the pics.

I am curious, where did "many" axles go?

That picture is mesmerizing. 500 years ago Pieter Breugal the Elder, a Dutch painter, created paintings that show great detail of scenes loaded with much detail. I looked at your pic a few times before I spoted the vase and plant right in clear view in the middle. I also see your collectble kerosene lantern. My Dad used those to go out at night to check on tobacco barns that were fired up curing tobacco before flashlight batteries lasted very long with the bulbs of those days. I note, that you have a lot of stuff, it is all visible without having to move anything. Wish my kitchen cabinets were like that. I also note that you have only as many screwdrivers and adjustable wrenches as a person might need. I have trouble throwing out old ones. Notice the acute details in all the images. Usually background parts are less clear to focus on the central part of the painting. The Wedding Dance 1566.

Good find, JeepDriver. Did you find the maker's CC handle? Do you think a heavier , thicker cast metal handle would fit?
-
If the handle maker was on CC and showed his work, would someone copy it here?

Funny.

DesertRat1991, the trim around the windshield on the red junker looks to be in good condition. Is that XJ year compatible with MJs?
-
Pm sent. Are the driver side and passenger side the same? If pitting is worse on what was originally the top, they could be flipped over and used on the other side?

Removing some footprints from my hood.

Assuming they were applied to the surface of the paint, couldn't they be removed with rubbing compound? -
I sent Strokermjcomanche a pm on Sat but he has not responded. If I do not hear back by tomorrow, I am interested in what both of what you show for front handles. Pick and Pull only leaves vehicles on the lot about 3 weeks here before they crush them. Not sure how long they linger where each of you are.

HOrnbrod Moderator Moderators 20174 posts Location: Sweet Home Alabama Posted September 18, 2018 I did a similar "horn mod" using two horns from a mid-60's Buick Electra 225. They do get people's attention and sound more like a bus than a car. Good idea mounting them out of the weather. I mounted them in the stock locations with the bells facing down to keep the H2O out. So far so good.

I watched Ford v Ferrari last night. Enjoyable, if you are a motorhead or not.

Only if you provide a pic to show that you have actually used said device and this is not a big fish story.

This thread should not die in a dusty corner somewhere. Created by the colorful gentleman from Tenn. and contributed to by some of the CC finest. What's happening in the new tool arena? Any inherited tools?
-
Stunning find. It does look like 1,100. IMHO, the interior is the optimal color. Garage kept for 39 years?

The man that owns one of the most collectible trucks of all times is expected to post pictures of the progress. Bo, did you not get the memo explaining just that? Pit vipers don't bite in the winter in Alabama. Much is expected from those so capable.

Any update here? Has anyone located NOS or after market chrome handles that fit MJs?

Someone left this on on my 89 MJ while parked at Costco. People with stop as ask if the 89 or 87 are for sale here. Many of the younger crowd have never seen them before.

This is an interesting read for Jeep enthusiasts. The writer doubts all of it is true but 73 years is a long time to own your first Jeep. https://www.msn.com/en-us/autos/classic-cars/this-one-owner-1946-farm-jeep-has-a-fascinating-and-mysterious-history/ar-BBYZhlE?ocid=spartandhp

The three most important things to enjoy driving a Jeep are: manual transmission, manual transmission and manual transmission. 80% of the cars in Europe have manual transmissions. Mercedes come with a choice of manual or automatic. I was in Prague two years ago and was surprised to the see that nearly all nice new cars had manual trans.

Left headlights on a few times. Dead Batt

The buzzer is being energized by your interior light circuit when the doors are open. When you redid your interior lights, you may have tapped into the seat belt buzzer circuit and that is providing the current path to the buzzer. So the buzzer stops when the door is closed? If so, there should be no need to disconnect your battery. -
Cruiser, the brusier, glad to know you are still in the game with a good prognosis for the future. Don't go do it again; we haven't had enough of you.

You have the wrong end of the stick. When the key is in on positon with the engine NOT running, there is NO noise. The level of noise double today. I hope it is not a fine hazard. Radio and Jimmy Hendrix off.
