  1. I like to drive with the wind, or behind a big truck.
  2. I would love that bumper on mine. Where oh where did you score it? I just got my bushings from TeamCherokee. Red poly's.
  3. I understand that you would want to replace them with Ford 5.0L 19# injectors. They are a 4 hole spray and are drop in's. Should be better than stock, some believe they give better economy and more HP, but I doubt that.
  4. My cheap lift was not so cheap. I got under my 20 year old truck and needed lots of other stuff after the 40 bucks or so for shackles and pucks. Shocks, axle seals, leaf spring bolts/bushings, drag link, sway bar ends, steering stabilizer. Damn Lift
  5. Wow, I just lost my heat too. I was just going to swap in a new thermo, but I will keep an eye on this thread.
  6. Isn't it something like 86-89 the same? So what are you planning for the 2000 front end? Saving it or selling?
  7. These wires are from the Jeep wire harness, everything was cut and taped so I ordered a replacement dash harness plug to do the new in radio install proper and clean. I am inclined to agree with ur assesment of dimmer and power antenna. I'll have to dig into the dash again later and put these wires into the radio harness plug and see what happens but after I get more info.
  8. 1990 Comanche. I have 2 wires in the radio harness I can't ID. The blue with white stripe and the orange with black stripe. Any body know what these 2 are? I have the control head in and everything works just fine, I just hate not knowing what these are for. I do not have a power antenna. I can link a photo of these 2 wires later if needed. 9. http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/view ... 71&start=0 here it is.
  10. As I understand it, if you look at the fancy Yellow/Red/Black after market ones for the HO series you will also cut out the oil puking in the air filter and just need to change one of the plastic vacuum line fittings on the intake. Here is a random link to VC's that I just pulled with google, http://www.jeep4x4center.com/jeep-valve-covers/ But I know there are others that know exactly what is needed to make one of these work on a renix head.
  11. Just a thought, my temp selector switch is non-op. I switch between hot and cold manually by moving the lever down low on the passenger side under the dash.
  12. I'll keep an eye on this thread to see when you are open to build more bumpers. They look really nice.
  13. Awesome! Thanks for the info! If I can't find them outside the dealer, I what to bring the dealer now.
  14. Bad news for me, no junkyards for me pilfer in Juneau. I will have to get the replacements new. I would like to save some money and stay away from the dealer/quadratec. I am looking to go to the hardware, off the self replacements. Grade 8, what diam, what length?
  15. OK, I am putting my "budget lift" together and it is not going to be "budget" after all. 20 year old truck needs some love before the 2" lift. So can some one help me out? I need to know what size grade 8 bolts I need to replace the rear spring shackles with? Was planning on hanging the 2" Chevy drop shackles, but things are going to break off and be cut off. Will also have to buy some new rubber spring bushings, 4 shocks, axle seals, the drag link (where it connects to pitman arm), ect, ect. Cheaper than buying something else I guess? Thanks.
  16. Put a meter on the wire that connects to the plastic horn behind the bumper. If you don't get 12v it's electrical, if you do get the volts, it the horn. My horn had died and I still had the voltage, so I swapped it out with a dual trumpet air horn set up from O'Reillys and now my horn works for sure. My lights dim a little when I toot it but it's damn loud!
  17. Right on! Thanks for the confirm. Couple weeks from now I'll be a little taller, but unfortunately I just discovered the Jeep 2500 front end mod. When will it ever end??
  18. 1990 SWB 4x4 Comanche. I am getting set up for a budget lift, 2", and just want to double check before I buy. For the 2" Chevy drop shackles, is there anything super important to get? http://wheelsnparts.com/index.php?cPath ... vrb0c9inb3 I was thinking that I needed the 88-07 units. Can somebody confirm this? Thanks
  19. 1990 'manche-4.0L-NP231-AX15 I am getting ready to inspect and diagnose my front axle while I slip a 2" lift over the springs. I know I will need axle seals and will see if the axle shafts are scored bad enough to need replacement. I'm going to take a close look at wheel bearings, u-joints, brakes, hoses, calipers, steering components. What else should I keep an eye out for or if I get into trouble, what should I look ahead to for upgrades? No junkyards in Juneau so it's all off the self replacement parts. Thanks!
  20. I've been thinking about this as well for a few years. My understanding is scuff it up real good, do any filling or repairs, then for best results spray it. Should be pretty much bomb proof if you kill all the rust before you encapsulate it. Repairs should be as easy and it will deaden road noise and vibrations. Be sure get the stuff that's UV protected, then pick smooth or chunky.
  21. Well I did it. Sprayed everything with Castrol Super Clean. Let it sit for about 20 minutes then sprayed it. It looks OK for a 20 year old engine; and it still starts. I then sprayed it with Corrosion Block marine spray, that should help it get dirty fast. So if I did something really bad and stupid, I don't know yet. And since I'm still at work, I don't have any pics.
  22. So just want to ask for opinions, I have a 5HP pressure washer at work and was thinking about turning it loose on my engine. Dirty little 4.0L Obviously I want to spare the electronics, but do you guys think it may not be a good idea? Any parts I should keep the water blast away from? I will need to drive it home after work. Better safe than sorry.
  23. The guys above are right, I got a cheap-O intake off eBay. The only difference is the sucking intake sound when accelerating, and a new look under the hood. I also don't have to buy new paper filters, just wash and re-oil. Bottom line, if you want to do it, just do it.
  24. When I press my panic button, I only hear a click from the horn behind the bumper. I have not tried to dig any deeper than that. Guess I should just throw an obnoxious new horn behind the bumper and see what happens.
