Ripped the spare tire winch from the scrap mj. This cotter pin was a pain in the @$$. It would have been easier to do before I unbolted the winch.

Bought a local wrecked lwb 86 mj. Will post part out items in the for sale but these are extras I will transition to my 88 mj. So that is what a straight tailgate looks like.

Under 50k miles barn kept. I had to ask. So strip it down it is I guess.

Anyone with experience know if this front end is salvagable? The rest of the truck is fine. The engine even runs and the truck can go forward and back. 1986 with low miles 2wd Maybe welding replacement front end parts and then new front end panels? Or is this always going to be a big risk after repair?

Is the spare tire hoist the same on swb and lwb?
-
Someone could put it in and run it

Well that's worst case I would offer it for cheap on cl locally for the truck and the 98k ba10

I have an 88 swb 4x4 ba10 comanch. I would like to get to an ax15. Is it easier to get all the parts 1 by 1 and then build the system or pick up a donor truck and swap that way. I have been offered a 1989 ax15 swb 4.0 for 1500 It's rusted but still ok. It should make the swap easy (minus rust cleanup) as all the parts I need are available. But for that price I could buy an almost new ax15 and parts. This is the donor. Fringe benifits are tail lights, fuel pump sending unit and other spares as well as scrap value of the car. Any advice would be great.

One option is to check the plug from the fuel sending unit to see if it changes with fuel level. If so it may be fine and wiring is bad to the dashboard. These trucks supposedly have poor ground connection issues. The left rear tail light has a ground lug behind it connected to the chassis. This is where the fuel sending unit gets its ground connection. One solution before ripping too much stuff apart is to see if that is a good connection. Maybe remove it clean the lug and reconnect to the chassis to make a good ground. I have the same issue. My fuel level is pegged at full (I fill up after 120 miles and reset the counter lol). This is more likely an issue with the ground but not for sure. If the gauge is pegged at empty I think that is more likely the fuel unit. But that is what I have seen other people on here say. I would start at the lug. My ground lug was frozen stiff so I have to go back with a torch and some pb and try and loosen it. I can let you know if it works for me.

They say the most important day in a man's live is when he gets hitched. So you should all buy one from krusty. Although krusty you need to come up with a snazzy logo like draw tites for future orders and slap in in that spot

Yup a legit draw-tite class III. Barely got out before they shut down for the day. They were basically yelling at me to leave as the last bolt snapped and the hitch hit the dirt. Hate those bolts so much. Kills me I had to leave a darn good tailgate and almost new tail lights. -
