So it is pretty much rust free and the paint clearcoat is very bad in a number of spots such as the roof and hood. I would. consider a full nice paint job in the future but for now I like the black and want a cheap fix.
I don't want to go macco with the paint job. But I won't be shelling out 1500+ to fix a few spots.
My options are sand prime and rattle can paint and clear the hood (main starting point). Or find a good condition black hood and swap it in.
Here is the hood as it stands.
And here is a brand new replace meant hood that is slightly glossy but appears to be a primer paint that I can get locally for $90.
Or I could find a junkyard one...
All options seem semi cheap and easy I just feel weird about replacing the hood when it isn't truly shot yet.
I don't need showroom looks just a little nicer then the cheapest look.
Any advice?
