I would if I could. Here in New York people can't buy salvage cars as individuals. Only dealers or scrappers or businesses can. So I have to wait for some business to buy it and hope they want to deal with me on the hitch or tailgate.

Well then at least the rear is worth saving. The truck bed topper also looks like it would be good for someone. Sand and paint it it would be pretty decent.

I see a comanche in my local auto auction. It's an 1988 4 cyl 4x4 swb maroon. It looks pretty rough and is not running. I believe it will be sold for scrap so I left a note with the auction house to tell whoever buys it I'll pay them for the hitch on it. I know krusty made some amazing progress with making new hitches but at the same time I feel it's a crime to let a full class 3 draw tire hitch get scrapped. I totally know it is a long shot that I get to deal with the guy but if it does I can repost. Just wanted to give other people the option to request other parts to grab too. Tail lights, tail gate, and the bed topper come to mind to save from scrap. If anyone has interest in anything from here let me know. I am also pretty curious as it almost looks like a class II or class III hitch on the front of the mj as well. I had never seen one like that. Are they common?

Its possible an 89 was sold as an 88. I believe 88/89 was the transition year to the ax15.

Is this close to you? Might be able to get the cross member transfer case and maybe a tranny from it. Along with any extra bits.

I am in the same boat jack. I have an 88 pugeot tranny 4x4 My internal slave is leaking and needs replacement. I would like to swap an ax15or the nv3550. I know there are other threads here with more info but I believe we need to get a different cross member that has a bigger dip to accommodate the ax15 or whichever we pick. Also the spline count on the transfer case is different so you may need together the transfer case that goes with the tranny. I am looking for a shop that can do the swap for me but I can't find a place that knows what is involved enough to pull the trigger.

Well the truck got me through the winter storms. I loved getting through anything lol. Now that its warm I am considering a paint job for the mj I really like the blue on this xj. Not sure if it's royal blue and if that's a factory color. Has anyone painted their mj the darker metallic blue in this photo? I love the color but I am not exactly sold for it on the truck body. I have seen some lighter metallic blue mjs and it isn't what I want.

I really like the jrc one but its a kit to diy and I don't have that level of welding skill. Hanson is the only one that references any class rating of 2. The hidden should be 3, hoping not to limit my towing. Hanson is difficult to place the license plate it seems too.

I know the uhaul and drawtight original hitch's are fairly rare but I am in search of one. I know some nates and Hanson bumpers are nice options but at the moment I am trying to find and buy just a standard hitch. I would rather keep the Reese multifit hitch and nate/Hanson bumpers as a second option. If anyone has a hidden class III hitch in pretty much any condition I am interested in buying it. Also this is for a short bed.

The grey interior that is painted black was the junk yard find I looked over in buffalo NY. The one in Klamath looks like it really is a black interior. But like you said bonkers the guy doesn't respond to messages on the ad listed above.

I am looking for 97+ xj all power rust free doors for my MJ. I found a couple people who sell them but prices seem a little high. What do you all think is a fair price per door? 75/100/150/....? I have a line on good quality doors 135 a piece with strikers and seals. Pretty fair or way off?

Still on the search for a full set of front doors from 97+ to install. For now I will just add these and wire them up my self.

Picked up a few "new to me" parts from the local scrap yard. Two power heated mirrors from 2000 xj and a gauge cluster from a 1988 xj. It is hopefully swappable in to give me the missing tach due to pioneers having the wiring and option even if the gauge cluster doesn't have it. (Correct me if my info is bad)
