  1. 2WD
  2. my $.02 is that like any older vehicle, its worth what you think its worth, and worth a completely different number to the buyer
  3. thinking maybe an alignment and possibly a wheel bearing is first thing I will try...
  4. 89 swb eliminator 4.0 renix when going any speed I hear a "wah wah wah wah...etc" type sound coming from what sounds to me like the front end. PO said he completely replaced front end about 6 months before I purchased and sat in his yard since. tires look brand new and have the counterweights when going about 50+mph I get a shake/vibration that gets worse the higher the speed and does not go away but it is not bad enough to where I can't drive it on the highway at 80mph but it is very annoying as when going a constant 80 is shaking pretty bad. however, being that I think the noise is coming from the front end, I do not feel the steering wheel shake or my @$$, more of an all around vibration. also it does drive straight, does not pull to either side. I'm trying to be as informative as possible as it is very annoying. any thoughts on what this could be?
  5. if hard to find, than why not broaden horizons to the ford econoline pick up or maybe something like vw caddy lol I'm not a big fan of the design of those type "trucks" honestly :dunno: but wondering what makes you want one so badly that you would trade your mj in a heartbeat?
  6. you are most likely going to see a difference unless you drove only at night and garage kept the truck...I used to work at a sign shop and some people would bring in a van that they bought cheap with obviously newer vinyls but apparently the business went under...underneath the vinyl will be shiny like "new"ish paint compared to the other paint. might not notice as much with a lot of wax and a good buffer.
  7. I could probably get them made and shipped for you cheaper if you have full dimensions ...I used to work at a sign shop and they give me discounts... :D
  8. alot of the tuners do this with their cars, I think it has more effect with higher rpms
  9. while I do not think holes in the airbox will help much if at all, since you could easily use a high flow cone filter and heat shield and be way more effective. I was thinking maybe extending the inlet to the airbox to the opening behind the headlight for more direct flow and maybe putting a secondary inlet in to pack as much air as possible in the box just to get max pressure into the throttle body. Might be better doing something like this with the main inlet and forget a secondary?
  10. I completely understand what your saying. I just wasn't sure if maybe taking your idea a step further and using the hole made as a ram air would help improve further engine performance and/or mpg, or if other restrictions make this not possible.
  11. we all know it is...I just don't know how much of an improvement it makes or if it is anything significant since throttle body and intake manifold have their own restrictions.
  12. if you were to cut about a 2"-3" hole in the side of box and mount a hose from the hole to front of vehicle...would act as a ram air and would also be more free flowing as its an "extra" intake into the airbox...right? I would assume this would be beneficial...any thoughts?
  13. When bumpers were just an option...
  14. Thanks cruiser, going with those
  15. woah talk about base model ...it came with no rear bumper?
  16. I have an extra cluster just in case
  17. update: fix to fix the issue if you have your temp gauge or tach or whatever gauge for that matter sitting at a number other than 0 when truck is on but not started. keep key in on position take glass off of front of gauge cluster while all wires connected to vehicle. carefully with pliers pull off the needle and push back on in desired direction turn off key and replace glass hope this helps someone in need
  18. I prefer manual for the fun factor and I like being able to control my vehicle more. I do like driving my auto xj every now and then when lazy in city traffic though :chillin: I'm also glad my 79 dj5 is a 3 spd auto instead of stick as its right hand drive
  19. maybe cat is clogged and fills with pressure so shuts off truck? smell anything when backfiring?
  20. update: decided to bring it in the shop, had more electrical issues I don't wanna deal with or bother you guys with so I'm havin a shop fix it. they will let me know the diagnosis on Monday or Tuesday supposedly
  21. I do like those cup holders tho :D possibly oe maybe or was there no option at all for those?
  22. ill have to look at it when I get home and will post back, I would assume stock but then again theres no tellin what the po did so ill post back up in about 4 hours
  23. sorry I know this has probably been said and asked over and over but I just want everybody $.02 before I buy as to which injector (with part number please) is best to order for my 89 renix 4.0, all stock except for a missing cat and closed to open cooling. I have a rough idle and think this could help with the 4-hole spray, but would like to know from people with experience if the Volvo, neon or mustang injectors are best. Thanks in advance
  24. weird that link is US CARS but the page is all French :hmm: but I see it does say base, metric ton on that decoder... I searched my vin on that site and it said exact thing this vin says and I too have an eliminator so idk how trustworthy that decoder is...
