Well I went and inspected the jeep again today.. Found out the frame has some rot and a small hole in the back near the leaf spring shackle. Is this somthing I should be worried about and stay away or can I weld a plate over it and be ok?

Well I decided that I am going to buy it!!! (seeing as how my DD firebird trans went today).. I will post pics up this weekend when I am in the process of cleaning and installing the soft top...

It has never been wheeled, but it is however completely stock. It is owned by an 18yo girl down the street that just drove it around town. I will probly stay away from it unless I can get it for $900 to $1000. Another thing I don't like is its automatic.

I have the chance to buy a mint condition 89 wrangler for cheap. I was wondering if they had as many issues with the front suspension like the xjs and mjs do? It is 4x4 with the 4.2L carbed motor. It runs great but needs the fuel lines replaced.

Thanks wildman.. I understand I meant to say I was going to use my 89 flexplate and cps with the 94 tranny.

So it would be a safe to say that my 89 TCU will work with a 94 trans even if I have to cut and splice wires? Also can I use my CPS with my flexplate in the 94 without any problems?

Anyone have any input? I want to get my truck running again..

Sorry for not clarifying.. I have a 89 MJ 4.0 4x4 auto with a AW-4 with the 21 spline count. I was just wondering if the 94 AW-4 with 23 count trans case will work with my set-up? I thought that it would be a direct swap but the TCU computer might be a problem?

I was wondering if a 94 aw4 trans will work in my 89 MJ? I found a aw4 trans with a np231 transfer case for $150.

It is a great deal... But my truck is only worth about $800 so I can't justify spending any more than bare minimum to get it driving again. I honestly just want to get it driving so I can get rid of it.

I am located in Maryland and need a good AW4 for my truck. I am willing to travel if the price is fair. I can get one from the pick-n pull but I don't want to remove a tranny in a junk yard. Thanks

Pretty dumb move I think! Why make two completley diff length frames for a bed that is only 6 inches longer??

Well my truck will idle at 700RPM and when you hit the gas from a stop it will idle down to 100RPM and then take off.. If it doesn't stall first. All my vaccum lines are new, would the IAC cause this? I would say MAP but it runs fine once you are moving, its just that initial start from a red light.

Ok so my truck is acting like the tps is bad. (Bad idle and tranny not shifting right) I got one from the JY and adjusted it to specs and checked operation. It checked out ok but I do have my idle screw out a little. Would having the idle screw turned up effect the tps adjustment?

I know eagle I am just used to calling it the overflow bottle. Thanks for the info everyone!

Where can I find a NEW bottle? Autozone or advance auto doesn't have them.

Do I have to the burp the system after I change the bottle?

Ok my cooling issues all make sense now! I have had the crack in it since the thermostat stuck and it overheated, blowing a small hole in the bottle. So I replaced the stat and burped the system and it drove fine for a week then it overheated again and coolant was spraying out of the overflow bottle. I burped it again and put some epoxy on it for now until I can make it to the JY.

I have a small crack in the top of my coolant bottle, will this cause me any problems?

Will a snap-on solis scanner hook up to an 89 MJ?
