Do you remember the part number on the fitting?

Got a pic of what you're talking about? Last AX-15 I pulled had 4 bolts that went through a plate and into the trans. don't recall seeing 2 studs, in either of the AX15s i have. no pics to refresh my memory though.

I'm in the middle of a 2wd pukey to 4x4 ax15 swap and I got the correct crossmember after quite some time, but the trans mount that I got seems to be either the wrong one or incomplete. It has the studs to go into the crossmember, but only 2 holes in the top, exactly like this one: http://www.quadratec.com/products/52449_0560.htm After a thorough search of just about everywhere I could think of, the only think I could find is that there is some sort of plate that mounts on top of that with an exhaust hanger implemented, seen below in a picture borrowed from superwade2 Now, the question is: where would I get one of those plates, or would it be better to get something like this: http://www.quadratec.com/products/52449_0561.htm that has the holes already in it.

breaking into your vehicle (lost keys)
landlubber replied to JeepcoMJ's topic in MJ Tech: DIY Projects and Write-Ups
When I first got my truck I put off making spares. Locked the keys in, called my dad and he used a slim jim and broke in pretty easily, got 4 sets now. If I was in a real pickle i'd probably just pop the back window out. -
Found one on craigslist, picked it up today.

Thanks for the info, save a trip then.

I did before snow hit, no luck. let me know if you run across any that you aren't claiming yourself. Went to candia a bit ago, no luck. Was going to go today but it was pouring. Still looking, would rather get the right crossmember now as opposed to running something rigged and less strong/sketchy.

I'm doing a 4x4 swap, BA 10/5 to AX15 (1997 ax15 out of a TJ if it makes any difference). Have a internal slave(works) and an external slave(broken reverse), swapping over the bellhousing/bearing retainer from the external(broken reverse) to the internal(good) question: AX15 slave cylinders are designed for plastic lines. I have metal lines, is there any way to retain the metal lines and still have a working system? Will and ax4/5 slave work? they will take a metal line. thanks

got the engine/trans split tonight. and pulled the ax15/np231 out of the shed. painted up a few bits so they don't show through ugly blue. the bed sure is handy for storing parts.

Slowly but steadily making progress: debating whether to go ahead with all my other plans whist everything is out; ie: stroker. Got the money and can drive other things in the meantime. Will take the MJ off the road for at least a few months, debating: any opinions?

hopefully it'll be out tomorrow, gotta make a run for a load leveler in the morning.

Pulled it into the barn and started tearing stuff off it, prepping for 4x4 swap. going to have to do some floor repair too. I'll get some pictures of that later. PO botched the drivers side pretty good, the passenger side is not terrible, but drivers side definitely needs some attention.

I would love to have a J8, SRT8, M715, J truck. wouldnt mind nearly anything Jeep or kaiser.

Took it out in the snow quite a bit, did awesome with the new tires, much better than last years bald wrangler rt/s.

Nice turbines. -
The only stock I have is 1/4in plate, probably a bit of an overkill

Looking to patch a hole in my unibody/frame just in front of the drivers side rear spring shakel, what thickness of metal is recommended? Got a stick welder and am modestly compitent at using it, want to get it done before salt hits the road, thanks.

I recently used a can, some in the throttle body, rest in the gas tank.

X2, had mine there for a few months, no complaints. -
had a little incident last week involving a very slick muddy off-camber slope and a tree that was blown down in the rain/wind storm. resulting in the below picture, just shows the PO's excellent rust repair abilities. check out my previous post to see what it looked like a few months ago. so, drove around with that until saturday, cut out the rust, turns out the wheel well was a mess too, cleaned that all out. fiberglassed that all up and then waited for it to dry. fiberglass does not like drying in sub-freezing temperatures, but it was solid when i got around to welding in some sheet metal. after that, got out the "automotive body filler" got two coats on sunday night, and left it in the barn overnight to dry. got anther coat on it monday after school, and sanded the crap out of it, primed it and then called it a night. Will get some paint on it eventually, but at least everything is solid now. came out pretty good for my first attempt at any bodywork, i think i like the lack of fender flairs in the back too.
